Being in the military has given me a chance to travel and meet people from all over the world in turn experiencing new cuisine and learning new recipe's or variations of one's I already knew.
My favorite things to cook
Dips, cakes, cookies, soups,salads(especially potato) stews and anything with layers or lots of mixing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Turkey for all major holidays and a different person is choosen to be in charge of the bird every time so it's never the same, always a unique yet familiar holiday must for me and my family.
My cooking triumphs
I'm asked to make mexican dip for every party I attend, it has various names (7 layer, million layer) depending on who is talking about it, also I get asked to make cakes because of my creativity with icing and fondant.
My cooking tragedies
I always burn the biscuts!! Never the same recipe, different ovens and times different times of the year I manage to always burn the biscuts.
