I strive to be good at anything I do. I don't like to be a failure at anything. Though I have become better at the things that I have failed on. "A woman's work is never done." I'm most thankful for salvation and for God allowing me to be a mom. I love being a mom, my son has been a gift from God to keep me going and I'm thankful for that. I cooked very little with my mom growing up so I started pretty much on my own. It takes patience to allow someone in your kitchen to work with or without you. The Lord has taught me patience in many ways as well as my son. Too many things are rushed as it is and I try to take in all that I can. I love to eat so I like to cook and try new foods.
My favorite things to cook
Soups, 1 dish meals, crock pot meals, Italian Meals, Mexican dishes, anything cheesy, cakes, cheese pies and cakes, desserts with cream cheese.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Deviled Eggs, Caramel apple cake, old fashioned apple stack cake, sour cream coconut cake, cobbler, cherry cheese pie.
My cooking triumphs
Breakfast gravy, chocolate gravy (with the help of all recipes), cheesecakes, sweet potato casserole.
My cooking tragedies
Luckily not too many. One was so simple but horrible - canned squash cooked for dinner was so nasty. It turned out looking like snot. Have gotten some cakes too dark on the outside...slightly burned? after putting all the work into having made them from scratch
