German Red Cabbage
This is soooo good. Even though this is not the quickest recipe around, the aroma that fills your house while this dish is cooking makes it worth the wait. My grandmother came from a German family, and after tasting the cabbage she said this would be something that her mother would have served. This recipes is way better than any other version I have ever tried and no restaurant variety comes close to these flavors.

Bread and Butter Pickles II
These were very tasty sweet pickles. The recipe produced about five to six pints. I added about two teaspoons of pickling spice and about a quarter cup of horseradish for my version of sweet horseradish pickles (tastes pretty similar to Nathan's brand).

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes
I got great reviews from the family. I didn't use whole wheat pastry flour because our super-grocery store didn't carry it. Substituted whole wheat flour, which I think made the pancakes more dense than I would have liked them to be. I made extra so that I could freeze them and re-heat them for breakfast the rest of the week. Overall, I will definitely make this recipe again.
