Real Southern Cornbread
well i stay away fromany recipe with less than a 3:1 ratio of meal to flour.and very little sugar just for a taste, grainy type is good I got sck of biscuit mixes so i am hiring a mexican gal to make tortillas

Carib Black Bean Soup
this is close to mine, you can eliminate the balsamic vinegar,soy and sherry(sherry does add a nice touch butdont make an extra trip to store if sherryless)a dollop of sour cream is mandatory.

Bean Soup
this is the closest to my way of doing it,and my way to make this soup is the best way of course,you dont need to add any salt.fresh biscuits or a good grainy corn bread is a must.
