I've been working in restaurants for about 8 years, mostly waiting tables, but the chefs at the restaurant I'm working now have been giving me a lot of tips on how to be a better cook. I never could afford culinary school, but I hope to make a living one day as a baker. No one pays me for it now, but I'm always trying new things and feeding my coworkers the results. Anything involving sugar or bread! I was raised on take-out and Hamburger Helper....I don't know where my love of cooking came from. I've impressed with the birthday cakes I've made for friends and family. I was about 8 years old the first time I baked cookies, and I forgot to put the flour in! My parents thought it was hilarious, and I was so embarrassed, but I have never since forgotten an ingredient in a recipe!
