Chevelle eating a stawberry
About this Cook
My name is Brittany. I'm 19 and right now i just cook for my boyfriend and myself. i am a stay at home mom. we have two little girls. Chevelle is almost 18 months and Layla is almost 3months. I'm hoping to gain enough experience cooking to be the kind of mom whose kids look forward to their meals. I do have a few recipes from family and school, once i get around to it i'll share them.
My favorite things to cook
i love to cook things in my crockpot. especially when you just stick everything in there raw and eat it 8 hours later. yes, i am lazy. since i've joined this site i have made new and interesting things. Chocolate Trifle, for one. it was delicious. twice backed potatoes was another dish i got hooked on. i love potatoes, so i make them alot.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my mom always made peanut butter balls for christmas. and my aunt pat always had little pizzas and meatballs and little finger foods. i love those. i really look forward to making my own traditions with my little family over the next couple years.
My cooking triumphs
my great aunt Ruth gave me her recipe for bread. it was a mixture of an old Amish recipe and a old family recipe. it turned out great. my boyfriend ate it by the loaf. Also, i have sweet tea down pat. Recently i started making my own Chili. wow, its good! especially with my super moist cornbread.
My cooking tragedies
way to many to mention.

Busy Day Chicken
today will be the third time i've made this. i used A-1 marinade and my boyfriend would probably be happy with just that. it was kinda dry before. i used chicken breasts. this time i'm trying the bed of onions. also put in extra sauce.

Herbed Twice-Baked Potatoes
i've made this several times already and its still so good. one difference i did was after rubbing with olive oil (suggested) i sprinkled with garlic salt and it made for a nice salty skin. also added real bacon bits and shredded cheese
