Just me
About this Cook
I am 25 years old and I have been cooking for myself since I left home at 17. As I got older my cooking expanded from microwave meals to using actual ingredients, and now I love to try and cook all kinds of different things. I enjoy being with my friends and family and love a good movie/dinner out. I enjoy reading and swimming and right now I am learning how to read and write Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook with chicken, I totally love chicken and I am always trying to find new things to do with it, I also like cooking with sausage and trying to come up with new ideas for a tasty bangers and mash or sausage casserole. But I will always try to cook with new things, I love to try new recipes and use my husband and friends as my unknowing giunne pigs!
My favorite family cooking traditions
That has always been the holiday baking event, every Christmas, or at least near Christmas would be the baking day, we would would bake Pies and Jam Tarts, Mince Pies and we would fill tins and tins full of all the little treats we made. Now I am on a mission to learn how to make truffles or candy so that can be something me and my family do.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made Meatloaf! I was up against my husbands mum's meatloaf and of course the meatloaf from Cracker Barrel! After following a recipe and making it with mash, it turned out great, even I was impressed with the way it turned out, and now that I am used to making it I add my own little touches here and there.
My cooking tragedies
When me and my husband where stationed in Hawaii I decided it might be nice for us to have a Sunday Roast, with all the trimmings, Chicken, Veg, Mash, Stuffing and Gravy...Yum... Didn't turn out so yum... After cooking the chicken for the stated amount of time it was still pick all the way through, and after cooking for 4 hours more after checking it all the time, it was still pink.. We ended up just have a vegetarian meal!

Indian Chicken Curry II
I made this curry the other night and thought it tasted pretty good! I did leave out the lemon and cayenne pepper as some other members suggested, but I do think the next time I make it I will add that and see where that takes me and see how much it differs, if any, from making it without. All in all the recipe is easy to make and tastes great, the whole family enjoyed it and asked that it put on the remake list!
