I'm a 22 year old Texan gal, happily married to the man of my dreams and mother to a beautiful baby girl. My husband is in the Army and is currently deployed to Iraq :(. So in the mean time, I live with my Mom and enjoy cooking for us girls! I do a lot of baking, simply because it is what I am most comfortable with. I love making pastas and desserts and salads. But I'm trying to branch out and learn new dishes! My Mom makes one mean chicken fried steak and the most amazing brown gravy. I'm still trying to learn from her, she's the best! I cooked my first Portobello today and I'm so excited! I was always to scared to attempt cooking mushroom, but it turned out great! Trying to make brown gravy like my Mom....it ended up looking like brown paste and had absolutely no flavor. And my poor husband ate it up with a smile so I wouldn't feel as bad, haha.
