Chococonut Chip Cookies

I really like these, what a terrific combination! I added coconut cream to my cookies after reading that the coconut taste is mild. I may add more coconut cream or coconut extract next time, I highly recommend this recipe.

Strawberry Orange Coconut Smoothie

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
Great drink for breakfast or lunch. I added organic orange juice instead of an orange, although next time I would like to add the actual peeled orange. The coconut cream is light and rich and makes this drink taste extra special and sets it apart from the others. I always add whipping cream to the top of my drink. Thanks!

Perfect recipe! I always use milk chocolate melted in the microwave for the top, no shortening added. Quick and easy. Wow, Wow, WOW!

Great recipe, no complaints. I added more garlic powder, oregano, and pepper to the recipe and I only had Muenster cheese, so that is what I used, excellent!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
Please Read! I read everyone's reviews and I was still hesitant to make these and I didn't expect them to turn out, but the did. I baked the cake and let it cool slightly during the evening. When my french vanilla cake cooled enough, I broke it into pieces and mixed with Dove Milk Chocolate Ice Cream Topping instead of frosting. (I read another review and someone decided to use the Dove, so I tried it.) I mixed well and I took a cookie scoop and scooped out and rolled in my hands until the ball was nice and smooth and held together. I rolled each ball in my hands for about 20 seconds each and I dropped them into a container to be refrigerated overnight. I also put the Wilton lollipop sticks into each one the night before which I highly recommend because it makes eating them easier as well as a mess free dipping process. I used Bakers milk chocolate and I tempered the chocolate, so I could leave them sit at room temp. and I do not have to refrigerate them. Came out perfectly, try using the Dove instead of cake icing and as much or little as you think you need and I highly recommend using the lollipop sticks. It was a neat experience, but in all honestly, I will probably not make these again.

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
PLEASE READ! You MUST leave about 2 inches of room around the side for the dough to expand while cooking or it will spill over. This comes out perfectly! I used a very large pizza pan (16 inch) that I bought just for making large cookies like this and that way when I spread the dough out, I have enough room to allow the dough to expand. I top with store bought chocolate icing and the buttercream icing from this site because I found those two types closely resemble what the mall cookies taste like. This recipe also makes the perfect regular sized chocolate chip cookies (I posted a photo) so I can honestly say I won't be using any other chocolate chip recipe for a very, very long time. *Update* When I spread the dough on the pan, I add extra dough around the edges/side, because the cook will expand and as the cookie spreads, the edges will thin out and become more brown otherwise. Make sure to add extra dough just to the sides.

Favorite Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
It is a good recipe. I am not a fan of peanut butter cookie, but I made them for my husband and he really likes them. The are soft anf chewy and the batter is light and tastes great. I left half of mine plain and the other half I melted milk chocolate in a candy bottle and drizzled chocolate on top.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2008
Perfect recipe, I made it exactly as the recipe follows. I was able to bake a 9X13 and a square 8X8 cake from the batter. I made the chocolate ganache icing for the larger cake and I dusted the other with powdered sugar, tastes just like this cake that I buy for $6.00 a slice at a nearby chocolatier.

Chocolate Ganache Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
Wow, wow, wow! My first time making chocolate ganache. I melted butter and heavy whipping cream on stove top until boiled and poured onto chocolate shavings in a stainless steel bowl and let sit like that for 3-5 minutes and then I mixed with a whisk. I will add a photo soon, fantastic recipe. I used this on the chocolate cake I recipe from this site.

Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
Good recipe, the icing does set up quickly which is great for immediate storage, but you have to ice them quick! I kept my electric mixer nearby to blend the icing because it was setting up because I couldn't work fast enough! This recipe doesn't make a lot, so you may have to double it. Tastes great!

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
Good recipe. Very light tasting, I did not roll them in sugar instead opting to put icing on them. I use a cookie scoop and roll them into balls, but I needed to flatten them out because they don't really do so on their own, just letting you know.

Glazed Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
This is very light tasting, to the point you can barely taste the lemon at all. I added much more lemon juice after reading others comments and next time I will add even more. I made the icing with powdered sugar and because the cake is so light tasting, went heavy with the icing and I added a lot of fresh lemon juice to it. It really makes up for the cake. Just make some minor adjustments, great recipe.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
I really liked this recipe. It is light tasting and I used organic seasoned multigrain croutons that I smashed up for the topping and the croutons have a great taste that really made this for me. I followed the recipe exactly except I uzed mini ziti noodles instead of macaroni because I was out. They are basically the same size without the bend. Sprinkle some fresh cracked pepper on top and it is ready to go!

Yia Yia's Tzatziki Sauce

This is my favorite tzatziki sauce. I found Greek Plain Yogurt at Trader Joes, it has a great thick consistancy. I sprinkle some dill on top when finished and I eat this with their pita bred or Naan Indian Bread also found at Trader Joes. So tasty!

Peanut Butter Bars I

I highly recommend using milk chocolate and not semi-sweet. I honestly cannot rave enough about this fantastic recipe! It is way better than a Reese's. I will make a full batch to take to parties or events and I make half batches for myself to enjoy throughout the week and pour it into a glass pie pan. I usually add more chocolate to the top, mmmmmmmm......

Tzatziki II

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Great recipe! I prefer mine more plain and I just use Greek Plain Yogurt from Trader Joes and cucumber and a dash of dill. I also eat this with Naan Indian Bread which tastes like pita bread. I can't get enough of this lately........I also shred my cucumber ahead of time to reduce the water. Using thr greek yogurt helps because it is more thick too.

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
Great buttercream recipe, I only needed 1/4 of what this recipe called for so I adjusted accordingly. I scooped the finished product into a candymaking melting bottle and melted the icing a bit and then decorated a giant chocolate chip cookie with it. Worked perfectly.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2008
This is the second time I have made this. I never add eggs because I don't like that part, but I do sprinkle ginger powder as per someone elses advice on here and I added onions, bamboo shoots, water chesnuts, steamed broccoli, peas and carrots. I use a few tablespoons of sesame oil and about 3/4 bottle of Kikkoman soy sauce. (5 ounce bottle) I steam my jasmine rice a day prior....almost a must.

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Fantastic recipe! I put only strawberries on top because I am picky about fruit and I doubled the recipe and baked it in a jelly roll pan. I also made the topping with cream cheese and marshmellow creme, a sprinke of vanilla and powdered sugar. I highly recommend this simple and delicious treat. All of my husbands freind's were raving about this at his UFC party tonight.
