Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
I am not much of a fan of homemade pizza, but I decided to try this because all of the pictures looked great. I tried this and have made it several times, I really love it! I make my own pizza sauce with tomato sauce and paste and spices and I buy a block of mozzarella cheese and I grate it myself for the top. Turns out great everytime.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
Don't skip dipping the apples into boiling water, the caramel may not hold with wax on the apple. Try using milk chocolate chips and simply melt those. I personally love melting a few squares of Bakers white chocolate and adding a tablespoon or so of peanut butter to that and when melted drizzling it all over the apple. HIGHLY Recommended recipe, I made these several times within the last few days. I only get 2 large apples out of this recipe or 3 small ones, but I REALLY dip my apples into the chocolate for full and thick coverage.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
What a delicious apple crisp, my husband and I were both blown away by this. I doubled the topping because that is the best part of apple crisp and I baked it at recommended time and it came out perfect, so if you really love the topping, go ahead and double it! I used real organic maple syrup and I added some cinnamon to the top before baking and for serving I drizzle caramel on top, if I have vanilla ice cream, I sometimes will serve it with that. I have now made this numberous time, no need to search for another apple crisp recipe again, this is it.

Pancakes

Good pancakes, just do not use the oil, you do not need it! I top my hot pancakes with milk chocolate chips, butter and sometimes just a bit of real maple syrup.

Mexican Rice II

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
Wow, what a perfect recipe! I love mexican/spanish rice and living in Southern California I am spoiled by eating good rice. I attempted to make this once or twice before and it always came out tasting horrible. I decided to try one more time and the pictures submitted made it this recipe look so delicious and it is! My husband used my onion up yesterday, so I had to settle for onion and garlic powder, otherwise I followed the recipe completely.

Cream of Broccoli Soup III

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
Good recipe, I left out the celery and I sautedd my onions first in butter and then add them. I like to add a teaspoon of honey dijon mustard to the soup. I shred my carrots and steam them as well as the broccoli before adding.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Secret Recipe

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
I scaled this recipe down to just a few servings. You won't need milk, the butter is sufficient, I think that is what makes it taste restaurant style. I sauteed fresh garlic in butter and I just added the flavored butter to the potatos and I left these more lumpy rather than smooth, a highly recommended recipe, very flavorful!

Tiger Butter II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2008
I love Tiger Butter, I used to purchase this at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I do not use chunky peanut butter because the tiger butter I always bought was always smooth in taste and texture. The taste if this can vary depending on the quality of chocolate you use. I tempered my chocolate so I would not have to refrigerate.

Simple White Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
Unless you are making cupcakes or using the 9X9 pan, you probably need to double the batter. The cake turned out okay, but not so good the next day. It wasn't very moist, more dense and slightly dry.

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
Still a great recipe, although I used less flour and I always add more spice. I NEVER use margarine, but I used fresh butter instead. I have been meaning to pick up fresh apples for days and I never did and I really wanted to bake apple crisp, so I used a can of sliced apples I already had. Tastes fantastic topped with cinnamon, whipping cream and caramel.
