About this Cook
One of my all time goals is to start my own bakery/coffee shop in Larimore, ND. It’s a small town but in need of a pleasant stop shop to relax. Only time and money will tell if this dream will ever come true. Until then I will continue to cook and bake until I find the perfect recipes to share with the small community of which I am part.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy creating new ideas and using different varieties of food. My favorite things to cook are pizzas, pastries, cakes, breads…I guess I’m a baker at heart, but that doesn’t prevent me from cooking with veggies, pastas, spices, and meats.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Because I am part of a military family we don’t have any family cooking traditions. But when my dad retired from military service we spent our first Thanksgiving together after many years. My older sister Lauren thought it would be fun to have a unique twist to the traditional Thanksgiving meal. We ended up having a Italian based Thanksgiving meal with butternut squash lasagna, parmesan roasted asparagus, Italian style breadsticks and broccoli bow tie pasta alone with all of the traditional Thanksgiving foods.
My cooking triumphs
The only thing I have ever triumphed in making are cinnamon rolls. The more I worked with bread dough the easier it got. Reading more about how work with the dough the better I became at making cinnamon rolls. Cooking takes dedication. If I want to be good at baking, grilling, or cooking reading about is a great help. Food Network is my favorite channel to watch it has really helped give me different ideas for cooking techniques.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
These were so good! light, fluffy, moist, and wonderful dip in the glaze. I made dozens of doughnut holes and served them with toothpicks in the center. I also made a chocolate glaze by adding some chocolate to the hot glaze.Delicious! My favorite!
