I am a wife to a wonderful man and mother to an intelligent, beautiful daughter. I am trying to improve my "house mother" skills for my family. We live in a smallish town in East TX (I am a 4th generation native Texan) and I discoverd that we have a very nice (if small) farmer's market. I like to go and look even if I don't buy anything. I would like to have a garden someday so I tried a tomato plant this year (to get my feet wet) and it died a terrible death :) lol! I may just stick to cooking! Anything easy! I love quick breads and pasta! Carbs!!! lol! We almost never go "traditional" for anything and its great! Ex: we have Mexican food for Thanksgiving often. My mom always made Christmas candy when I was young and then stopped after a while. I am trying to start that tradition again. Learning to cook at all :) Update: recently made a veggie lasagna that turned out awesome! My husband always tells me how great the things I make are so I guess there haven't been any terrific tragedies (or he's just a really good man) :)
