Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
Absolutely tasty. Shortened the the baking time as other's suggested. Only omitted the wine because all we had was red and I don't like it in my food anyhow.

Absolutely tasty. I added some cayenne pepper for a little kick and used a 15oz can of tomato sauce. We like sauce.

Golden State Mushroom Soup

Wonderfully tasty. Works as written. I've also done it using just vegetable broth since I didn't have chicken on hand. Just needed a little salt and cayenne pepper to make up the taste difference.

Shortbread Cookies II

Very good and simple. The recipe worked the way it is written. I rolled and cut cookies out for decorating since I don't have a cookie press. They were appreciated by everyone.

Pennsylvania Coal Region Barbecue

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Yup, this is how hamburger barbaque is done where I grew up in PA. Didn't know you made it another way. I use venison so I add a touch of oil when I brown the meat and extra vinegar cause my family likes it sour. Didn't know there were 'other ways' of doing it until I went to college. Manwich is gross, make your hamburger bbq this way and you'll never go back!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
Made with 'Katie's Mom's' modifications in another review. Came out looking and tasting like a lasagna. Used ground venison, fresh herbs and sea salt, cause it's what we have on hand. Stayed together when cut and not greasy like my own mother's. Sorry mom.

Dill Pickle Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
Good and different from the typical meatloaf. In order for this to be good, you need to use good pickle juice. If you didn't like your pickles, you won't like the loaf. Great to have yet another use for pickle juice! Will make again.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Definitley use the sour cream over the half and half. Last time I didn't peel my potatoes and it turned the broth a funny yellow color. Tasted good still but I think I'll peel from now on

Pennsylvania-Style Pork Roast

Turned out great. Tastes like a PA pork roast should. Didn't have powdered onion so I used thinly sliced onions instead and didn't notice a difference.

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Went over great with a party of 10 for Thanksgiving. I followed the recipie, except using low fat sour cream. Since that's all the store had left. Followed others advice and beat it with 1/2cup milk the day of...turned out great. No leftovers!

Enjoyable, used whole grain corn bread mix which gave it a grainer hearty flavor.

Tasted fine, I did use only one loaf of bread. It was DRY, even with some added turkey drippings. I would add a can broth to it next time.

Kangaroo Chops

Delicious food for dinner for two. I think kids would find this too "weird looking" with the wilted veggies. I used my own sweet corn I froze from last harvest and it turned out super yummy

Wonderful cookies! I added more oats to replace the nuts for my walnut hating roommates. Super kid friendly, meaning college kids ;-)

Best Oatmeal Cookies

The key is, ADD MORE OATS!!!! Geez people... if you don't use walmust or rasins, you MUST replace taht item with something else... adding more flour will just make a tougher cookie!! ADD OATS!!!
