Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Delicious! Though based on the recommendations of others, I did halve the oil. I'm not sure what difference the extra oil would have made, though having some is good in that it greases the grill. I will probably try this again with an even smaller amount of oil.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
This was so much easier than I thought! I wish I had made it long ago! I did take the advice of others and mixed the filling together before spreading it on and I do think this worked well. It was easy to get on and I didn't have oozing out problems at all. I did double the cream cheese frosting - this was probably a bit too much, but if you like frosting, you'll probably want a bit more than the recipe calls for.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
I'm not a big fan of banana pudding, but I have to say that this is a great recipe. My husband loves it and in the 13 years we've been together, I've never made it for him. I decided to do it for Father's Day, hoping I didn't mess up a recipe I've never made. Turned out to be VERY easy and he thought it was great! It set up very nicely making a very pretty dessert. Thanks for the recipe!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Topped with a whole lot of chocolate glaze and made for my husband and father's birthdays. For those guys, there is no such thing as too much chocolate! And I have to agree, it was delicious!

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
Wonderful rich, moist cake. I left out the coconut as my husband doesn't like it, and topped with cream cheese frosting (whip together 8oz cream cheese, 1/2 tbsp vanilla, 1 stick butter, & 3 cups powdered sugar) and baked in a 9x13 pan for 45 minutes. Thanks for a great recipe!

Wonderful recipe, though we halfed the rum (still plenty) and added strawberries to the fruit.

Perfect Apple Pie

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Perfect - just like the name says! I know there has been some debate about what apples to use, and I love things sweet, but I used Granny Smith and thought it was excellent. Very straightforward, not runny - which I always seem to have a problem with... Thanks for a great recipe!

Mendi's Favorite Orzo

I love orzo, but to date, I hadn't found an orzo recipe that my boys (husband included) liked. Everyone gobbled this one up! Thanks for a great inexpensive and easy recipe!

Cinnamon Bread Delight

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I'm not sure what happened here, but I suspect that an 8x4 pan may be the problem, mine wound up overcooked (taken out at 65 min) except that the middle was still so undercooked that the center of the top actually collapsed. I also wasn't very impressed with the flavor. Not inedible, but I won't be making this again.

Apple Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
For me, these were just ok. They tasted good but not great and didn't look very nice. I filled the muffin cups to about 2/3 or 3/4 full and I still got very small muffins, that weren't nice and plump and round. And lets face it - these aren't cupcakes. I did chop the apple as other recommended but honestly, I could see it being good shredded also. With so many good recipes out there, I'm not planning on making this one again.

Pizzelles II

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
Perfect! I do used butter, and to those that had trouble with the cookies not getting crisp: I noticed that a lot of us that had good results mentioned that we use butter. I'm not sure if that's the problem, but it's something you could try. I also opt for the vanilla to the anise (substitute in equal amounts) and feel free to try different flavors that you like (e.g, lemon, orange, etc.).

Monkey Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
I actually bought a 4-pack of biscuit dough and despite the warnings, I didn't think the pan looked full enough, so I used all four. It topped my bundt pan perfectly - no run over. Next time, I will make just a bit more sauce for it though. Nevertheless, this was easy and delicious and my 4-year-old loved helping.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
I made this exactly by the recipe and I have to question cooking this at 300 degrees for such a long time. When I took my brisket out 5 1/2 hours into cooking, it looked burned. I completed the recipe and in the end it was either tough or burned to a black crisp. I did not care for this recipe.

Pumpkin Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
Awesome! Pumpkin can sometimes not be as moist as some quick breads, so the zucchini ensures the moistness. I don't like to waste stuff, so I used a small can of pumpkin (1 3/4 cups) and doubled the recipe. I made 4 loafs, but they were small, so next time I'll do 3. Like other reviewers, I did increase the amount of zucchini. I used two smallish zucchinis for the double recipe I made (approximately 3 1/2 cups).
