About this Cook
I love to laugh.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make meals for our friends and family. It is a joy, a simple act of giving something of yourself to your loved ones. Nothing but full belly's are asked in return :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday dinners (I'm from the south after all). Nothing beats fried chicken, mashed potatoes with milk gravy from the drippings, collards greens and finally Grandama's fresh peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice-cream. Don't forget the tall glass of southern sweet tea. NO meal is complete without it.
My cooking triumphs
My first round of homemade jellies.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made mac and cheese. I was about 6 and I put too much milk in. Came up as mac soup. i was so upset because it didn't look like Mom's. The funny thing... I love my mac and cheese a little soupy. It is the only way I eat to now.

Pumpkin Zucchini Bread
I have made this recipe several times and ALWAYS get asked for the recipe. I find it a wonderful way to use up the fruits of your summer garden with a fall twist! Top a slice with sweetened cream cheese and you have a wonderful additional to your afternoon tea/coffee.

Banana Date Bars
This is a truly wonderful recipe. I did change the recipe a bit. Split suger between lt. brwn sugar and white sugar, used 5 ripe bananas - coursely chopped for some added texture and since I love spices - added 1/4 tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp of cinn. They can out so moist and the banana flavor is exceptional!!! Do try this recipe. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Purple Plum Pie
Awesome. If you love tart and sweet, this is the greatest. Add a little vanilla ice-cream and you have a fabulous dessert!
