I'm a teacher turned floral designer who loves to cook. I'll try almost anything. Baking is one of my favorite things to do, but I really like to experiement with entrees. Thanksgiving brings wonderful memories of making Grandma Beckham's cornbread dressing, Ahhh! the aroma. We make great holiday cookies and fruitcakes from recipes passed down. And, being from Texas, we make a mean supper of brisket, pinto beans, potato salad, and homemade sourdough rolls. Recently, I got a flan recipe from allrecipes.com and made it. It was absolutely "to-die-for". When I was teaching I made all kinds of pies for my fellow teachers for the holidays. That was so much fun. When I was engaged to be married, I made a peach cobbler. It smelled so good while it was baking. My fiance put a forkful into his mouth and looked at me with a confused expression. I had used salt instead of sugar.
