Will be married 50 years in Nov.(2008). We have 3 boys, all married, 4 grandkids, 3 boys, 1 girl.
My Mom worked at a time when most stayed home so I learned at an early age how to put a good meal on the table.
I learned a lot from my grandmother, no recipes, just put it together and make it taste good. We never measured.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken Pot Pie. Not the kind with a crust but the PA Dutch kind with the slippy noodles. It makes a lot so my kids come for a couple of quarts for 'take-out'!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting together for pot luck picnics.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to decorate cakes. They're so expensive at the supermarket or bakery there's no money left for the present!!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a beautiful plate of deviled eggs. Many, many eggs! As an accent I usually dust the tops lightly with paprika. Never cook in a hurry, I grabbed the chili pepper instead. The eggs were eaten, but WOW was everyone surprised!
