About this Cook
I am a 28 year old stay at home mom. I have 3 kids that keep me busy, ages 8, 4 and 1.
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE to bake!! I tend to "stress bake" alot. I like trying new dishes, but enjoy more traditional cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
In my family, we all get together to make Christmas cut-outs. Lately it has turned into a 2-day process. Since each of us wants alot of cookies to take home, we end up making ALOT. Everyone gets tired, kids and adults (you can usually find my mom asleep on the couch mid-day). So we end up baking one day, then coming back the next morning to frost. We're all pretty goofy after the second day (from all the sugar)! It's alot of fun!
My cooking triumphs
I recently won 3rd at the local fair for my cookies.
My cooking tragedies
Nothing too major...yet.

Chewy Granola Bars
These were good! The only reason I gave these 4 stars is because they had a really strong honey flavor. Still good though. I put half of the mixture in a 13x9" pan, then a layer of raspberry-peach jam, and then the rest of the oatmeal mixture. I made it for a snack for my daughter's preschool, they really liked it!

Raspberry Cream Cheese Coffee Cake
I think this is the best coffee cake I've ever had! I ended up using a 9" round cake pan. After it was done baking, and cooling for 15 minutes, I inverted it onto a plate, then inverted it onto another plate, so it was right side up. This worked great, and looked FABULOUS! It ALMOST looked as good as it tasted! I used homemade blackberry jam. MMMMMM!!

Overnight Caramel French Toast
This was ok. We really liked the flavor, but the bread was so soggy! Next time I will try some of the recomendations from the other reviewers.
