I love cooking, serving my family and my children's friends. During the holidays I enjoy making baskets of homemade foods for friends, especially homemade jams. Cooking has brought great joy and satisfaction to my life.
My favorite things to cook
Meatballs and sauce Pierogies cakes and pies breads smoked, roasted meats on the grille jam hot wings steak frite roasted vegetable turine potato salad/ shrimp macaroni salad mac and cheese
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year for most major holidays I bake Challah bread and deviled eggs in a very simple, delicious way. It wouldn't be a holiday without those two items and my family and friends look forward to it. At Thanksgiving I make a lovely sweet potato mousse, harricot vert with toasted almonds, and the most decadent mashed potatoes with scratch made gravy. That holiday is very dear to my heart as an American. Easter is wonderful too with all of the Polish foods I am so fond of preparing. It makes my heart sing.
My cooking triumphs
I baked a two tier cake for my daughter's 16th birthday covered in chocolate fondant with chocolate ganache. It was beautiful. Then I figured out how to make my aunt's Frankfurter Krans cake using other sources than her recipie. (which she would never give up)

The 6 different cakes I tried to make before I got my daughter's 16th b day cake right.
