Cinnamon-Roasted Almonds

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
These are soooo YUMMY! I doubled the recipe and used almonds and pecans. I did use vanilla instead of water in my egg whites and added brown sugar (not much because I was almost out). I also added some cinn/maple sprinkle that I had on hand. They turned out crunchy and delicious...

Tuna Pasta Salad with Dill

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
I loved this salad and will be making it again soon. I followed the recipe except I used scallions instead of onions and added diced celery and cucumber. It was perfect and all of the green vegetables looked good with the dilly dressing. YUMMO! I can't wait to try it with canned salmon as well! Thanks for the great recipe!

Salmon Patties II

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
After bing snowed in for a week, I was raiding the cupboards in search of food and found a can of salmon. I looked for a recipe that didn't call for bread crumbs or saltines, cornflakes...because I didn't have them on hand. This recipe was perfect! I did add some onion, dill, garlic salt, and pepper. I also dredged them in flour before frying and they turned out crispy on the outside-moist inside-& very flavorful! YUMMO!

Maple Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
I made this cheesecake for Thanksgiving this year. I did add a few extra spices as many reviews suggested and I think if I were to make it again I would follow the recipe exactly. The extra spices made it too much like pumpkin pie in my opinion. The glaze was to die for. I thought it was good (considering I HATE ppumpkin pie and don't like cheesecake), but I did not recieve the compliments that I thought I would. It was very rich and everyone seemed to think it was "good". I may try a plain cheesecake and use this glaze (I could eat it out of a bowl on it's own;).

Butterscotch Oatmeal

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
WONDERFUL! I followed the recipe, but used slightly less milk (maybe 1 1/2 cup) because I like my oatmeal a bit thick. It was very creamy and just as sweet as I like! I never thought of adding the sugar while cooking and it was just the ticket-adding it after my oatmeal is done always thins it out (and as I said, I like it thick). I have made this over and over since finding this recipe-THANK YOU!

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I loved how easy this recipe was and that there was no cream sauce to make-you didn't have to dirty 10 pots just to get some mac-n-cheese. I did add sour cream as many reviews suggested-but otherwise I followed the recipe. It turned out nice and creamy. My only reason for 4 stars is that I thought it was a bit bland. Maybe some cracked pepper, seasoned salt, garlic...I don't know, but it is a great base to build on.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
I made this stuffing for a playgroup Thanksgiving party and it turned out WONDERFUL! I was looking for something easy to make that would work well in a pot-luck situation and this was just the thing. I followed the recipe exactly, except I was out of sage so I added a little extra poultry seasoning. I also finely chopped the mushrooms and onions(in hopes of hiding them from picky kids-as this was made for a PLAYGROUP). I used the dried breadcubes for stuffing that are usually on the shelf by the Stovetop;) and it took the full ammount of chicken broth suggested-about 4cups. Yummy-easy-will deff. use this recipe again! THANX!

THE Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2008
Yummy! Changes I made...I used mini bowtie pasta instead of shells, I cubed my swiss, and I added celery for crunch. My eggs were frozen when I went to make this, so I had to omit the boiled egg-it was good without it, but I know I would like it even better with. If you spread the remaining dressing on the top of the salad as directed, it doesn't turn out dry at all and is very creamy and flavorful.

Super Hot Cereal Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
This is a great mix! I hate the little envelopes of instant oatmeal because my son will eat at least 2 in one sitting and they are gone in a couple of days! With this mix you can pick the flavors you want and the portion you want for a lot less $$$. I skipped the raisins (my son's orders;) and added roasted/chopped pecans and 1/2 cup of wheat germ and about 1 tsp cinnamon. I found that adding 1cup water to 1cup oats and cooking it in the microwave for 2.30min made the results that I like (nice and thick and ready for me to add butter, milk, or maple syrup without having soup!)

Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
Very good! My son takes meds that cause a major loss in apetite and I was looking for something that would be easy to grab, healthy, and tasty so that it would not be so hard to get breakfast in him. These were easy to make and my kids all loved helping. I added a bit of pumpkin pie spice to mine, some chopped pecans, dried cranberries and dried spiced apples. They turned out great and I will certainly be making them again in the future. Thanks!
