About this Cook
We are homesteading on 50 acres and my *job* is raising all of our own meat and vegetables. I raise grass fed beef and lamb. We also raise free range chicken and confined pigs. I have always loved cooking and im blessed with a hubby who will try just about anything i cook so i make up a monthly menu with 2/3 tried and true favorites and 1/3 new recipes..most of which these days come from allrecipes.com because i love this site! Our goal is to eventually raise everything that we eat. I cook every meal from scratch and try hard not to use anything thats processed.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I just love to cook! My favorite recipe would probably have to be the lambchops with balsamic reduction. Since we butcher our own meat instead of cutting the lambchop section of the lamb into lambchops my hubby debones it and cuts that strip of prime meat into lambsteaks. With the balsamic reduction they are to die for!

Homemade Angel Food Cake
The texture was very good but it was lacking a little in flavor. I will try adding more vanilla next time i think.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast
I'll reduce the salt to a half teaspoon the next time that i make it but other than being a bit salty it was excellent!

Modenese Pork Chops
These were soo good! I made them exactly like the recipe calls for and they were great! I will leave out the salt next time as they were a touch too salty for my taste. The different brands of wines perhaps make a difference in how salty? Its such a simple recipe and yet it takes so good that its definitely a keeper for us!
