About this Cook
I'm a part time musician. A drummer in a rock and roll band. I'm also a stay at home house hubby!
My favorite things to cook
I'm a griller! Steak, chops, chicken, hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, shrimp, etc. If it's made of meat, I'll grill it! My spaghetti sauce is pretty good. My twice baked potatoes are pretty good too. I've been experimenting with the crock pot as of late, but I am more of a hands on, attentive kind of cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was a latch key kid raised by a bachelor father. I've been cooking and preparing meals for one or two people for most of my life. Our tradition? Survival!
My cooking triumphs
No one has yet died or become ill from my cooking!
My cooking tragedies
The occasional over cooking of meat on the grill, especially chicken. Raw chicken is just nasty and I tend to err on the side of too done.

Chunky Potato Soup
I tried this one out several weeks ago. very delicious, warm, comfort food. I didn't add any cheese. I felt that cheese of any kind would ruin it. I guess you could put cheese on the side and let people add it if they want. My only alteration to this recipe was to use half & half in place of milk and I added more veggies! I'm making this tonight!!!

Kyle's Favorite Beef Stew
I had never made homemade beef stew before and I was wanting to try it out before the upcoming cold months. I didn't follow this recipe to the letter, but it was very much my base. I didn't use wine or mushrooms and I halved the recipe. It was very delicious. I'll never buy a can of beef stew again. This was too easy and too delicious! I'll be making it again for Thaksgiving weekend when we've had all that we can stand of turkey!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes
Very awesome!!! Very filling! This is a main course, not a side! I substitute ham for the bacon. I go easy on the onions, half the butter and I add a heaping tablespoon of cream cheese to the mix. So delicious! Here's a tip on baking the potatoes, after washing and drying them, rub them in an oil of your choosing. The skins will be excellent!
