T's Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
These fries tasted good, but they weren't crispy, even when baked as long as the recipe stated. Since I love sweet potatoes in any form, this didn't bother me very much, but the rest of my family was pretty dissapointed. These fries had a wonderful flavor, though. Thanks for sharing!

Chicken Honey Nut Stir Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
Wow! This is a very deceptive recipe! It is so easy to make, yet it tastes so amazing that you would never know by the taste how simple it really is! The only changes I made were to add sliced broccoli stems instead of the celery, and I used pineapple-orange juice instead of just regular juice because that was all I had! Oh, I also used walnuts instead of cashews as well. It was still so wonderful that I will be making it again and again!

Baked Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
I really loved these chips! They seasonings give them a nice kick that is complimented by the hint of lime. Since I do not have a mister, I simply mixed together the oil, lime juice, and seasonings and brushed this mixture onto the tortilla pieces. Yum! I will certainly be making these again; thanks for sharing the recipe!

Quinoa Porridge

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This was a delicious and very healthy breakfast! I used regular cows milk, because I didn't have almond. I also used organic raw brown sugar (sucanat) instead of regular. I cut it down to one serving size; it wasn't really enough, though! Thanks for sharing this tasty recipe!

Lo-Cal Apple Snack

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
This was a very quick, tasty and healthy dish! I made these for breakfast, and my sister and I really enjoyed them! I didn't have any plain apple juice, so I used apple cherry. It was wonderful! This recipe is really yummy and so easy to make!

Ants on a Log

These are really cute, easy, and tasty snacks! Some of my siblings don't like raisins, so they use dried cranberries instead and have red ants on a log! This is such a cute idea; thanks for sharing!

Hummus III

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Yum! This hummus was very tasty, but the recipe does not call for enough liquid. I ended up having to add the oil to the hummus while it was processing because it was so thick. I also added several tablespoons of water to make it smoother. With these additions, the hummus turned out very smooth and creamy, and looked great with the paprika and parsley topping! Those in my family who like hummus really loved this! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
These muffins were pretty good, but they were not the most flavorful muffins I've eaten! I liked the texture from the oats, but I've had better oatmeal muffins. I made them just as written, and thought they could use a "boost" of some sort...maybe fruit? Anyways, this is a very easy and quick recipe to make when you are pressed for time, and the muffins are pretty tasty!

Strawberry Muffins

I made these muffins just as written, and they were wonderful! They had just the perfect amount of sweetness, and I loved the color of the strawberries! I used frozen strawberries, which worked very well. My family really enjoyed these. This recipe is a keeper!

Honey Oatmeal Bread II

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This was a very delicious bread! The texture is wonderful, very soft and moist! I love the honey brushed on top; it looked so pretty and tasted great. I soaked the oatmeal for one hour just as the recipe stated, and the bread was great! My whole family loved it. The only change I made was to substitute whole wheat flour for half of the white flour. I added a tsp. of wheat gluten, as well. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Cupcakes

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
These were very cute and tasty cupcakes. I made them for the Sunday School class I was teaching; all the kids loved them! The only chocolate cake mix I had was German Chocolate, but I thought this would work better because it has a lighter, milk-chocolate flavor that tastes more like hot cocoa.I also used powdered hot cocoa mix instead of cocoa powder, because I didn't have any. The cupcake frosting is so good; it is light and fluffy and tastes just like hot chocolate!

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
These refried beans were wonderful! I didn't have any jalapeno peppers, so I stirred some chili powder into the finished beans instead. This recipe also calls for way to much salt. I cut the amount in half (2 1/2 tsp.) and they tasted great! This is such a wonderful and easy recipe!

Apple Cinnamon Turnovers

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
My family loves these turnovers! Even those who aren't big fans of refrigerated biscuits really liked them. They are so easy to make, and taste very good! I like to seal the turnovers with a fork instead of just pinching the edges; they look prettier and it is much easier!

Whole Wheat Bread III

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This was a good whole wheat bread. I really liked the addition of cornmeal; it gave the loaf a satisfying "crunch." I did convert the recipe for the oven, since I don't have a bread machine. Thanks for a tasty recipe!

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This soup was wonderful! My family really liked it. I did use Italian flavored ground turkey instead of beef, though, and skipped the basil in the meatball mixture. I added a little extra onion and some celery as well. The soup cooked together very quickly and tasted delicious. Thanks for the great recipe!

Egg Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
These noodles were very tasty and easy to make! I didn't have time to let them dry completely, and they still cooked up well and tasted great! I boiled them in beef broth instead of water; this gave the noodles extra flavor. Thanks for a good any easy recipe!

Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
This cake was good, but not amazing. It was very easy to make, and baked up very well. It looked very impressive, but the taste didn't "wow" me or my family. I did not have enough cocoa to make the frosting, so I used a similar recipe that used a little less than 1 1/2 cups. I took the cake to a church dinner, and it was gone in 10 minutes! It definitely looks impressive, and it tastes good, but not wonderful! Thanks for the recipe.

Chocolate Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2009
This frosting had a very pleasant, light, and buttery chocolate flavor. It was a little sweet, however. Since the recipe makes nowhere near 3 cups, I tripled the recipe. This was just about the perfect amount for frosting my 4-layer chocolate cake! I did have to add a lot of extra milk to make the frosting the right consistency. Thanks for the recipe!
