About this Cook
My friend at work introduced this site. I am trying to get my mom's Japanese home cooking recipes on this web!
My favorite things to cook
I am working mom with two teenagers. I always prepare the food the day before or in the morning so it will be ready to go by time kids come home. I use slow cooker often. My slow cooker is very nice and programmable. I also put food together in baking pan in the refrigerator and leave direction for my daughter or husband. When they come home, they put it in the oven following directions. I also have programmable rice cooker. This works great for busy Asian family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom has many Japanese quick cooking recipes for being busy mom also. Quick, easy and yummy is my favorite family cooking traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I like making yummy and pretty looking cakes. People enjoy looking at and eating them!
My cooking tragedies
On Christmas day, I invited friends for dinner. The rolls did not come out the way I want them to be. Even more embarrassing, my guest ate them to be nice to me. The bright side is that we could recycle the rolls for bricks.

Spiderweb Cheesecake
Beside the recipe, the spider web is so cute. I tried to make this decoration with baked cheesecake but I always get cracks on baked cheesecake so it did not work out. I put plastic spiders on cake as decoration. Kids love this cute cake.

Easy Sour Cream Cheesecake
This taste good but I cracked so bad. I had to put topping to hide. Still taste good.

Sushi Roll
I make sushi with ingredients I find in my refregerator also. This time, I used imitation crab, tobiko roe, avocado and canned chicken. I also used plain rice instead of sushi rice. I like this way for calfornia type rolls. Kids love to make sushi too.
