About this Cook
My husband is a minister and I teach Sunday School in our church , I was constantly looking for new dishes to bring to events at church.I love this site because there is all way,s great new recipes here .Gone are the days of boring casserole,s..I love to cook, another passion of mine is photography and living in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas,I get to do both..
My favorite things to cook
Deserts,casseroles,grilling,
My favorite family cooking traditions
We all gather at Christmas ,and each member invite,s someone who has no where to go to join our family at Christmas. It is wonderfull
My cooking triumphs
My cajun deep fried turkey and dressing..
My cooking tragedies
My first try at deep fried turkey,I all most caught the deck on fire,my pot was too full of oil and I had not planned a way to remove the turkey from the oil..My husband used a garden shovel,my second try at deep frying was better planned and turned out great...

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie
I first made this 3 weeks ago ,I took two to church, it was gone before I could get a slice.I was supprised when everone ask me to bring 3 for the fellowship dinner this week ,my husband ask me to make a extra one for him to have at home..it seems he only was able to get one slice the first time around.Be sure to toast the coconut.Everyone felt that made the difference in just a coconut pie and THE COCONUT PIE.Very eazy to make..A keeper Mary Ricki

Bananas 'N' Cream Bundt Cake
I made two of these, one for church and one for us.The one I took to church was gone in a few minutes.5 different people ask for the recipe.I made it just like the recipe said,it was really better then the one we ate at home, because it had a day to rest.I will be baking more of these but I will make them the day before I serve them.My husband is pretty picky and he loved them both,he did agree that the one that sit over night was a lot moister and seem to have more flavor.Be sure you use very ripe bananas...This cake is very easy to make . While it was baking the whole house smelled just like my grandma,s house around the Thankgiving season.Thank You for another great recipe...Mary Ricki

Lemonade Cake II
My husband is a minister and we are all way,s being invited to different church,s where they are holding pot luck dinners.I made this cake to bring along to one.I was a little nervous as this was the first time I had made it.My husband had the first slice and pronounced it great .(.He is a very picky )In fact he ask that I make one for Sunday ..After the dinner 4 different people ask me for the recipe. And one was a gentleman who owns a little diner in town.I made it just the way the recipe said and in a bunt ban. Some have said the cake stuck to the pan .I sprayed the pan with Baker,s Joy,and it came right out.I did take it out of the pan, about a hour after I took it out of the oven while it was still slightly warm..And be sure to only use 6 ounce,s of the lemonade concentrate. Most of the concentrate,s come in 12oz cans so be carefull .I all most that mistake...Great lemon flavor...Mary Morris
