About this Cook
I am blessed to be a wife, mother and grandmother. I serve the Lord as a Stephen Minister at my church, I try to live my life to His glory. I have a job that I love as a unit secretary on a geriatric medical floor at a local hospital.
My favorite things to cook
Lots of different things, it was hard to identify what type of cooking I like to do for that reason. I love browsing allrecipes.com to find new ideas and read the ratings/reviews.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Loose meat sandwiches (like tastee sandwiches), Chicken noodle soup, Crispy sourdough bread, Smoked pork roasts, My aunt Edna's ham loaf, Camping foods
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to make Crispy breads in a cast iron dutch oven. Good Fried Chicken, Pork butt roast that has been brined then slow smoked to perfection. I love it when a good soup comes together.
My cooking tragedies
Oh my gosh, there are too many to mention, Sometimes I follow the same recipe that someone else used, theirs was GREAT, mine was not. I've been cooking 20+ years and I'm still not a great cook.

Corned Beef and Cabbage II
Yum-O, The meat was so tender and we enjoyed the subtle undertone flavor of the oranges. We didn't eat the apples with the cabbage (weird texture) but they gave the cabbage a delicate flavor we enjoyed. The meat was even better the next day. This is my "new" CB recipe. Thanks!

Best Ever Split Pea
Very Good! I used an electric blending stick right in the pot, it worked great. Like most soups it was even better the next day. Thanks

Braised Beef Short Ribs
Very Good. Better the next day. I skimmed alot of fat off after being in the fridge. The meat was very tender and flavorful. Thanks
