About this Cook
I am married to a wonderful husband and we have a 7 year old daughter. We are also foster parents and have a 3 year old foster son. I am so blessed to be a stay-at-home mom! I love being able to take care of my home and family. I grew up with a single mom who had to work 2 jobs so I know how fortunate I am! I never really learned how to cook so little by little I'm attempting to try new things.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking and making desserts! The kids usually like to help pour the ingredients in the bowl. It's very fun to see the excitement on their faces while they're helping because many of the kids have never had that opportunity before. They are so proud of the finished product and then eating what they have made. It's a really neat experience to share. (I wish they were as excited to help clean up!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
We like to sit down as a family for dinner together each night. We also love getting together at holidays with family and sharing a meal. We all have our special dishes that we bring to each gathering. Every Friday night for us is pizza night! Every Christmas morning we have Yulekage that my mom spends the whole day before making. It's our favorite!
My cooking triumphs
Each time I try a new recipe, it turns out and....everyone likes it!
My cooking tragedies
I have issues with reading the recipe cards wrong and mixing up the measurements with the wrong ingredient.

Crunchy Pumpkin Pie Granola
One of our favorite granola recipes! I do bake at 300 instead of 250 and stir about every 10 min until lightly browned, then it only takes about 40 minutes or so. One tip I've learned is granola gets crunchier after it cools!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
Pretty good crust. It's nice not to have to wait for the crust to rise. We like it better when adding 1/2 tsp basil, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp onion powder and 1/2 tsp garlic powder to the crust when mixing together. We also find it mixes just as well with your hands, then you don't have to get out the mixer.

Little Broccoli Bites
Very mixed reviews. Either loved or hated these in our family. The look of them is not appealing and the smell lingered ALL day.
