About this Cook
I'm a recent college grad. I have only been cooking for a few years, but I am really starting to enjoy it more and more. I started cooking a few years ago when i got my first apartment in college. I am now living on my own and try to cook whenver i can, usually on the weekends. Friday and Sundays are usually my cooking days which i always look forward to!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I am trying to make actual meals, though as well bc i gotta eat more than just desserts! Also, I swear, I have an addiction to peanut butter! I bake with it a lot, as well as make smoothies, use it on waffles, use it as a dip for various fruits! Whenever i go to my parents house, my brother is always looks at me and says, " peanut butter cookies again!?" haha
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, my family makes homemade spaghetti sauce and manicotti. We occasionally make the spaghetti sauce throughout the year, but when it comes to manicotti, only on Christmas! I refuse to eat manicotti any other time of the year!
My cooking tragedies
When i was younger, i tried to make lasagna and didnt know the difference between tsp and tbsp. Well, i ended up putting in over a tbsp of salt and pepper insead of a tsp into the recipe! Well that was the end of that lasagna!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
I cut the recipe In half and put the batter in a larger loaf pan. The bread would just not cook all the way through! After 90 min I gave up and just took it out of the oven bc even with foil on top, it was still getting too brown, was worried it would burn. Maybe it's my oven, I dunno bc I've never had issues before. If the bread cooked properly I'm sure it would taste lots better

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler
Super super easy and delicious! Used 3 tbsp of butter instead. Strawberries and blueberries, what a match!

Easy Lemon Cookies
Tasted amazing! I ran out of oil so added about 1 tbsp of melted butter to make for 1/3c. I also used 2 tbsp of lemon juice as well as zest instead of extract. While the first batch was cooking, I put the rest of the batter in the freezer. When the first batch finished, it tasted ok. When i made the other batches that had come out if the freezer, the lemon taste was much more pronounced! Definitely refridgerate if you can or freeZe batter for about 10 min if you are crunched for time before baking. It makes all the difference!!!
