About this Cook
I'm a recent college grad. I have only been cooking for a few years, but I am really starting to enjoy it more and more. I started cooking a few years ago when i got my first apartment in college. I am now living on my own and try to cook whenver i can, usually on the weekends. Friday and Sundays are usually my cooking days which i always look forward to!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I am trying to make actual meals, though as well bc i gotta eat more than just desserts! Also, I swear, I have an addiction to peanut butter! I bake with it a lot, as well as make smoothies, use it on waffles, use it as a dip for various fruits! Whenever i go to my parents house, my brother is always looks at me and says, " peanut butter cookies again!?" haha
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas, my family makes homemade spaghetti sauce and manicotti. We occasionally make the spaghetti sauce throughout the year, but when it comes to manicotti, only on Christmas! I refuse to eat manicotti any other time of the year!
My cooking tragedies
When i was younger, i tried to make lasagna and didnt know the difference between tsp and tbsp. Well, i ended up putting in over a tbsp of salt and pepper insead of a tsp into the recipe! Well that was the end of that lasagna!

Halloween Popcorn Pumpkins
These were good but nothing spectacular. Cute to look at.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
My fault for following another reviewers suggestion about adding baking powder. I knew better than to add it, but so many people seemed to agree, thought I'd give it a try. If you want cakey cookies, then be my guest and add the baking powder, I however, did not. I'll def follow the recipe as written in the future to see how they turn out

Flatlander Chili
The first time I ever made chili and it came out great! It was super simple to prep. I cut the recipe in half and cooked it in a big sauce pan. I was planning on making it as is but decided against it based in what I thought would be lower sodium. I wanted to use low sodium juice but didn't want to compromise flavor, which is the only reason I used others recommendations to do sauce instead of juice and tomatoes instead of sauce. I also added shredded carrots. Will definitely be making this all season long!
