About this Cook
Just a beginner. Recently got married and figured I should learn. =/ Up until now we have been eating out wayyyy too much. Sometimes just about every night. That is bad! If we do eat in its like microwave food. Not good either. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this site!!. Found some really good recipes here and the community of folks are very nice. I just posted my first question and got about 5 replies within 30 mins! wow!! Who needs a cookbook when you have a great site like this??!! Looking forward to be at the point where I can look in the fridge and whip up something without having to measure every single thing to an exact.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak
This was great. I followed all of the ingredients but I used about 2 pounds of top round steak and kept all the other ingredients the same. We don't like celery that much so just added 1 stalk for a bit of flavor. I seared the meat with the flour and seasonings. I then added a bit of red wine to de-glaze. I added this to the slow cooker. I also added some minced garlic and about 1.5 TBS of the dry onion package slow cooked about 4 hours high then 3 hrs low. It came out wonderful. Served with some brown rice. Yum.

Bacon-Balsamic Deviled Eggs
These were the best. I followed everyone's recommendation and halved the red onion portion and grated it. I didn't have any bacon on hand but it was great even without it. I cant imagine how much better it would be with it. I compensated by adding a tiny pinch of salt. I also used a small sandwich bag to fill the egg whites. It made is so easy and it made those pretty swirls. I topped with a sprinkle of paprika. Next time I will make these using those real bacon bits and someone has mentioned. Thanks for the great recipe!
