Chinese Steamed Buns with Barbecued Pork Filling

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2008
i made these yesterday, and i cut the recipe in half. they were really good, the filling wasn't what i had had expected, probably because we used regular pork in place of "Asia barbecued pork". We found that their wasn't enough filling, but otherwise the buns were tasty. Also, my dough never rose as much as the recipe said, whether it was a problem with the yeast or it just isn't supposed to, i'm not sure.

Frost Me Nots

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
This recipe is awesome! I just pulled a batch out of the oven and they came out perfectly! My younger brother was begging to eat them(unfortunately he couldn't, we're making them for a birthday) and i caught him several times sneaking licks of the batter! However, this recipe only got 4 stars because I'm a bit of a health freak, and when i took a peek at the nutrition facts, I was blown away! Also, these do need a pinch or two of baking powder to help them rise. Other than that, a fabulous recipe!

Angel Food Cake III

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
the cake tasted great! this was the first time that i had ever made a cake other than cake mix from a box! i think for a first try, it turned out fabulous! i wasn't completely sure about how much to whip the eggs, so i don't think i whipped them enough. the cake ended up only being about 2 inches tall, so it was very dense. in a way, i liked the density because it made it more filling, unlike traditional angel food cake! my sister had 4 slices in the span of 2 hours! good recipe!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
this was a good recipe. i think it called for too much cinnamon, though. i'm not a big fan of cinnamon in applesauce, so... anyways, my younger siblings enjoyed it and said it was much better than storebought, but honestly, i couldn't taste a difference. however, i did like that i knew what i was putting into my body, no preservatives or weird chemicals. i had a little bit of trouble peeling the apples, but other than that, extremely easy!

Lighter Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
i just finished pulling the last batch out of the oven! i was pleasantly surprised with how great these tasted! although there isn't much flavor at first, it finishes up with a nice kick to it! however, i did have to make several modifications. first, instead of 2 bananas, i used 4(i may even use 5 the next time i make these,) and i used 3 eggs instead of 2. Also, i only used 1/2 a cup of sugar, but sprinkled about a tablespoon over the recipe before putting them in the oven. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla and some cinnamon. i eyeballed the cinnamon, but i think it amounted to about a teaspoon and a half. also, i didn't have any muffin tins on hand, so i simply plopped the dough on a cookie sheet using table spoons(the big kind you put on the table,) and baked the muffin tops for 10-11 minutes at 375 degrees. This was a great recipe, it was extremely easy, and even the pickiest of my younger siblings enjoy them!
