About this Cook
I've been married for a little over a year and I have LOVED being able to cook for two people. I get really excited when I find a new recipe that tastes great, and I almost never (except for a few favorites to which I am always adding new things) fix the same thing twice.
My favorite things to cook
I like doing things on the stove, such as stir frying for making pasta dishes. I also love baking, but don't do it as much since its only the two of us.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was more of a meat-and-potatoes kind of cook. Not much more seasoning than salt, pepper, and lots of butter. :) I love learning new things, but I'll never turn down a home-cooked meal at home.
My cooking triumphs
I'm learning to eyeball seasonings, and a few weeks ago I made a dessert that was the hit of our church potluck. :)
My cooking tragedies
Planning the week's recipes ahead of time and making the grocery list accordingly. Always have a simple back up. :)

Chicken Pot Pie IX
This is such a delicious recipe. The sauce is a really great base, to which I added salt, pepper, sage, thyme, and garlic powder. I doubled the recipe like others suggested, but ended up having way too much, so I stuck in the freezer and am hoping it will be good for another pie. I used store bought crusts and a bag of frozen mixed veggies, and just layered them in with the chicken in the shell and poured the gravy over them. It was so hearty and tasty, perfect for this chilly night. Thanks so much!

Baked Pork Chops I
This was a very good recipe. My husband isn't much of a pork chop fan, and he loved it. I used regular bread crumbs and left out the wine but doubled the milk. I also added some garlic powder to the mushroom soup gravy. I browned the chops in a cast iron skillet, then just stuck it in the oven and baked them. Once they were finished I took them out of the pan and mixed the gravy in the skillet, making sure to scrape all the yummy browned bits off the bottom. I served it with baked apples. Very tasty.

Overnight Caramel Pecan Rolls
This recipe is great. Its a wonderful basic cinnamon roll recipe. I make the dough in my bread machine, which simplifies things a ton. I double the amount of cinnamon and sugar filling, and instead of making the caramel sauce, I make a cream cheese frosting. I tried the caramel once and it was just too much of a hassle, and its just as good with the cream cheese. Thanks so much for the recipe! Its a keeper!
