Microwave Chicken Parmesan/Chicken Breast Cacciato

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
If rating purely off taste I would not give it 5 stars, very good but not something to write home about. However, if you factor in the fact that it is so simple to make it does deserve 5... Its quick and easy...and no one knew it was from a microwave!

Raspberry Ribbons

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2010
These tasted great, will def be saving this in my cookie recipe box! The only trouble I has was that if I made the cookie any wider than about a fig newton, no matter what I did, it was pretty unstable...but no worries there all I had to do was before serving cut the cookie in half. They still looked nice and people could grab them without them breaking.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
Is this an innovative recipe? No. Does it depend mainly on the type of BBQ sauce? Of course, there are only 3 ingredients! Yet, it still deserves 5 stars. Why? Because it is simple, cheap, and tasty! Took past suggestions and cooked pork/broth in crock pot (low) for 7hr, added BBQ (Jack Daniel's Honey Smokehouse) and put in fridge for about 7hr, then added lit more BBQ than recipe called for (when I tasted it it was a bit light) & warmed up in crockpot for about 3hrs (2high, 1warm). Will mention that I am not sure if cooking it this way improved it from the stated directions but what I do know was it was very tasty.

Raspberry Walnut Baked Brie

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
I was excited to make this for father's days since my dad loves Brie. Sadly, although it was okay it did not get the reviews I expected. Although none who tried it said they down right disliked it, they seemed to think the flavor combination was odd and weren't to sure about it. My father stated he would have preferred the brie just by itself. Update: I gave this 3 stars to start since didnt get rave reviews but my grandfather said he put some in the oven again later in the week and loved it, requesting more! Although it was golden brown when I took it out of the oven, maybe all it needed was to sit in the oven longer or be eating right after taken out of the oven and not just when people got finished with the rest of the meal. 4 stars.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
Review:Delightful! I little worried about this since in many cases I am not a fan of cooked fruit but this was delish. Another guest also stated that when they heard the name they doubted they would enjoy it but really liked it as well. What I did: Cooked sauce (about 2x what orginally called for) on stove then poured over raw pork. Cooked covered in the oven for about 40min, sprinkled nuts on top and cooked uncovered for additional 10-15min. What I might change: Next time I will try adding a thickening agent to the sauce (maybe after it cooks...after cooking there was a ton of tasty liquid in dish that went to waste)

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
This is a great recipe, that can be easily modified to suit people wants (or in my case what I had on hand)...I made them with these modifications: vegetarian fake ground “beef” (morning star), manicotti instead of shells, Mexican Chez mix, and for the sauce I did half the dish pure tom sauce and the other a canned enchilada sauce; also, added black olives & lettuce to the topping. The pasta tasted really good, was not that fond of the sauces I used (not recipes fault). Will def. make again trying a diff taco sauce.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Instead of making the tortilla into chips made it into a bowl and filled the bowl with fruit. Very tasty; however, I would suggest either leaving out the jelly or some sugar because both are not needed.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
These cookies got mixed reviews. I thought they were a little bland but they grew on me nontheless (liked the texture), a few people didnt care for them, and others thought they were one of the best cookies they had tasted...Good: they stayed mosit, and had a great texture. What I would change: I might had more spices in the future to give them a strongr flavor.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Put this on BBQ chicken and beef, tasted good but no one at the party even noticed it was not just the store bought jar stuff...so very tasty but not sure worth the effort.

French Toast Bake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I was not very fond of it, thought it was a little too mushy and not sweet enough (though syrup helped this); however, many others at the party enjoyed it and stated it was their fav dish at the brunch. I made it with torn up slices of French bread (since it was not an older loaf, I toasted each slice), added cinnamon in the egg mix and topped with frozen mixed berries (which everyone seemed to like). It also looked quite pretty.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
These are the best! Everytime I make them they become an instant hit. They taste good right out of the oven or right out of the fridge. If time is going to be an issue, you can make the filling ahead of time and just store it in the fridge. Then right before serving all you have to do is scoop it in and pop them in the oven for a bit. Yum Yum Yum!
