About this Cook
I'm a 22 year old college student. I'm currently pursing an Associates in HIT (Health Information Technology) and my CCA and RHIT certifications. I love to sew, quilt and craft - and I am absolutely addicted to logic puzzles like sudoku, slitherlink and masyu.
My favorite things to cook
I started just baking: cookies, pies, cakes. I've slowly been branching out to cooking more foods, but I'm still learning a lot!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Haha, my family's cooking traditions are restaurant take out. I didn't really grow up with a lot of home cooked meals.
My cooking triumphs
I made a cheesecake once when we had guests coming over. My boyfriends mother didn't realize I was making dessert, so she had gone to a bakery for a cake. I was really disappointed, because this bakery cake was BEAUTIFUL and looked delicious. Well, apparently looks can be deceiving, because my cake was the favorite, and there was none left by the end of the night. Nobody really cared for the bakery cake at all. :D
My cooking tragedies
When I was 16, my friends and I decided we'd make food and take it to a local park and have a picnic. So someone made sandwiches, someone else made dessert, and all the necessities were assigned. I got stuck with potato salad. I looked up a recipe online - it didn't look very hard. Well, I was getting calls because I was about 45 minutes late - but my potatoes wouldn't boil! I had put whole (unpeeled!) potatoes in a pot. I finally gave in and called my mother, she laughed and told me to peel & chop them and try again. It turned out pretty good - even though I was almost an hour and a half late. :D

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups
These were just okay. I love the sound of all the ingredients and the reviews were so positive, maybe I was just expecting more? I made it once and never again, it didn't get any negative criticism, but was never requested again.

Hudson's Baked Tilapia with Dill Sauce
Great recipe. I tweaked a lot of the numbers, though. For our tastes, I needed about double the Cajun seasoning. I added more dill and garlic to the sauce, as well. I also did not like how thick it was, so I added about 1/4 cup milk to thin it out a bit. Overall, great base recipe. You may have to modify it to suit your liking.

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)
This was great! The bread had a good firmness and the vinegar in the tuna added a really nice touch. I will probably buy a very high-quality swiss next time I intend to make this, though.
