Grew up in Buffalo, NY until after college. Moved to Raleigh, NC where I lived for about 8 years after that - living in Raleigh and working in Chapel Hill. Learned the complexities of the eastern vs. western NC BBQ debate.
Moved to Seattle in Aug 2005 and am now learning a whole new set of recipes utilizing PNW ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
Buffalo Chicken Wings
Kal Bi (Korean BBQ)
Homemade Spaghetti Sauce w/ meatballs
Shrimp & Tuna Macaroni Salad
Chicken Soup with dumplings
Shish-ka-bob (beef/chix/shrimp/veggie)
Clambake!
My favorite family cooking traditions
wake up on a Sunday, and spend all day making a huge batch of spaghetti sauce with meatballs (accompanied by a bottle of red wine in the process!)
My cooking triumphs
20# deep fried turkeys
batches and batches of Buffalo Wings with no equal!
Fresh and steamed east coast clams with all the trimmings
My cooking tragedies
20# deep fried turkey (and 1 deep fried deck)
