About this Cook
I love to read. I don't have a favorite genre. I like all books, especially cook books. I like trying and collecting new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I like preparing meals for my family. It gives me pleasure when a meal turns out really satisfying.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Don't really have any cooking traditions. I learned to cook looking over my grandmother's shoulder and helping her prepare meals.
My cooking triumphs
When I trust my instincts when trying a new recipe it usually turns out great. When I don't is when it isn't good.
My cooking tragedies
Lost a favorite recipe for beer cheese soup years ago. Everytime I made it from memory it never turned out right. The thickening agent would always curdle no matter what I did. I just recently found the recipe and I can't wait for cold weather so I can make it again.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
I thought this was very good. I used a very large pork lion that I had cut in half. Sasonings and liquid were right on. I used splenda instead of the sugar and added two teaspoons garlic powder to it to suit our tastes.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad
Yummy! I used Splenda and sugar free Jello as I'm a diabetic. Only complaint is that it is a large dish and the crust gets soggy fast.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
This is the best recipe. I love it. My sister and I have always lamented why couldn't we make Rotisserie Style Chicken that tasted as good as the restaurants? Well now I can say we can with this recipe. I too left out the white pepper. Didn't have it in my pantry and haven't missed it the numerous times I have made this recipe. I have only made it using one chicken as there are only two of us. So I halved the amounts for the spice mixture. I will be making this for years to come. I have passed it on to everyone I know. Thanks Sue!
