I am the daughter and granddaughter and beyond of some very excellent cooks. I came by my ability honestly. I have been married to the love of my life for almost 18 years. I love to bake. I learned early from my mother and her outstanding baking ability and have been able to carry it on in my adulthood. Christmas was always a big cooking time in my family. My mother's kitchen used to look like Willy Wonka's with all the goodies that she would make. Then after I married, I would help my grandmother with her Christmas preparations. It was always a time of love and laughter. Lots of sharing and advice was given freely at this time of year. Being able to take my mother's and grandmother's recipes and making them even better. My first batch of homemade bread. I used 5 lbs. of flour that my mother had bought for a special project. I have since gotten a lot better.
