Nell's Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
This salad is great! I made it when girlfriends were coming down from up north to visit! Great as a side at any potluck or get together. I made no changes except I only had one chicken ramen and one beef so I used one chicken ramen packet and a half of a boullion cube! Not a big difference there.

Albondigas

This recipe was so easy, and tasted so good! I was worried about dropping raw meatballs into the soup but they cooked just fine and it was delicous. I added red pepper and garlic.

Brenda's Apple and Pomegranate Crisp

This is delicious! Just make sure when you're making the crumbly part that you don't melt the butter and then pour it all into the oatmeal/sugar. Because I did that and ended up with a bowl of mush. Whoops.

Gingerbread Boy Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
This is a great gingerbread cookie recipe! It tastes great, it's easy to make, and gingerbread men are just so adorable! I really don't even like gingerbread but I just made these because I know how popular they are and I was making them for giving away. They are really good, but be very careful not to burn them because you won't be able to see if they're browning or not, and if they are, then they're burnt! Also, after boiling the molasses mix, let it cool all the way because if you don't then the egg will get all curdled and then it is ruined. Let it cool and if it gets too cooled, then just warm it up a little so it all melts again and pour it into the flour. Once again, GREAT RECIPE! PLUS, no lard or shortening!

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
I made this because I had a small head of cabbage in my fridge that I needed to use up. This soup is very good, but it is basically chili with cabbage in it. I also found it to be very salty but still good. I halved the recipe but the one thing I did change was the tomato sauce... I used one can of diced tomatoes and one small can of tomato sauce. This could account for the chili like texture... but either way it would still taste like chili. My boyfriend didn't really like it but he is picky.

These ribs are SO good! With the slow cooker, the meat just falls off the bones. My boyfriend was impressed!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2008
This is the best soup recipe I have ever made. I made it when my boyfriend's parents came over to see our new apartment and I really wanted to impress them, and they surely were impressed! It tastes so good and it doesn't take very long to make... just throw it all together and walk away, just like it says. It IS better than anything in a restaruant
