Daria's Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff

My family loved this. I thought it was good but the meat didn't get as tender as I'd like and the sauce wasn't thick. I would use sirloin next time instead of round steak, and add cornstarch in lieu of flour since the sauce didn't thicken enough. I didn't add the chives or parsley but I didn't miss them either.

Pot Roast in Foil

Yum! My husband told me I can make this every Sunday! Only one thing I would note though - don't make the mistake of salting the meat. With the salt in the soup mix, you definitely won't need it.

WE LOVE THIS DISH!!! I've made it 3x already and everyone absolutely loves it. It's the perfect side dish. You can prepare it ahead of time, then stick it in the oven and "fuhgetaboutit"!

Gingerbread Cookies II

Sorry, but these gingerbread cookies were horrible. The spices were overwhelming and I thought the overall taste was just awful. I ended up throwing the entire batch in the trash.

Easy Polenta with Tomato Sauce

I'd give this 20 stars if I could! My parents are from Italy and polenta was a staple when we were growing up. Adding chicken broth instead of the traditional water gives it a WONDERFUL flavor. I've also made it using cream instead of milk (yum!), and I've just sprinkled a little cheese on top instead of mixing a whole cup of it in. It's also good with sauteed mushrooms on top. A very good basic recipe - thanks Jaquita!!!

Sorry, I agree w/other reviewers - too heavy and gloppy consistency. I had to cut the italian seas. mix down to half and add twice the amount of cream cheese to tone it down a little.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

The meatloaf mixture was pretty good but overall it was way too sweet. I even cut the brown sugar down to 1/4 cup. I think it'd be better if you lightly sprinkle some brown sugar in with the ketchup.

Green Bean and Feta Salad

Sorry, this dressing was just awful. I love vinegar but 1 cup of vinegar to only 1/3 cup of oil? The proportions for this have to be wrong. I had to add SO much oil along with a few teaspoons of mustard to even make it edible. Nope, won't be trying this again.

Better Than Sex Cake III

This is a delicious cake that I've made many times. I really recommend that you poke holes on top of the cake when it comes out of the oven before you pour the crushed pineapple mixt. on top. Then let it cool before spreading the rest of the ingredients (otherwise, you have a sloppy mess). Also, the coconut is best when it's toasted lightly before sprinkling on top.

Coconut Ambrosia Salad

YUM! My 19-yr. old daughter made this for a family cookout and it was delicious! We've always used pineapple chunks in ambrosia but she used the crushed pineapple and everyone thought that made it even better. Thanks Didi!

Mexican Lasagna

This was yummy, quick, and very versatile. I added some black beans and a can of mexican corn to the ground beef mixture, and then added some Monterey Jack cheese to the Cheddar, and put another layer of cheese in the middle. Thanks!
