I come from a family of 7 brothers and sisters. Mom always cooked in big batches and there were never any leftovers thats for sure! My husband and I just celebrated our 26th anniversary! We have 2 girls, 5 cats and 2 dogs! I do not have alot of time to cook but with the rising costs of everything, it is time to get back into cooking from scratch instead of spending so much on premade meals! I love to make my moms old recipes. They remind me of my childhood. Hopefully I will find time to submit a few! We always had a huge garden growing up. I would have to say my very favorite tradition was helping Mom make the spegetti sauce on Saturdays for Sunday dinner. Picking the tomatoes, foley machine to get out the seeds and cooking down the huge pot all night long...MMMMM. I catered for 11 years...just small parties except for a few weddings here and there. My biggest triumph was serving a complete sit down dinner for 45 people outside in the pouring rain!!! A christmas work party that I catered. It was at a persons house. I did have everything pre cooked but needed to warm things up...their stove and oven were broken!!! I ended up using their microwave...took forever but everything was still tasty!!
