JIF® Gingerbread People

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
These cookies taste really good. Different from traditional gingerbread cookies because of the peanut butter, but very good. I didn't have butter flavored shortening so I used half shortening and half butter and that may be why they did not hold together well when rolled out. I had to add quite a bit of flour to get them to roll out well. I will make these again because we always have a lot of peanut butter!

Fried Cornmeal Mush

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2009
Thanks for this great recipe. My husband grew up on fried cornmeal mush. I didn't so had no idea how to make it. We can buy a loaf of it in the store but it's so much cheaper to make it at home, plus I know exactly what's in it. My kids love it too!

I love this simple, refreshing iced coffee recipe! Make as is or add chocolate or other flavored syrups or even chocolate milk. Yum!

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
We really enjoyed this recipe. I made 8 small calzones instead of 2 large ones because my children all like different things in theirs. I did ham/mozzarella/ricotta in some and added broccoli and mushrooms to others. They turned out really good.

Cherry Cobbler I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
This cobbler recipe turned out very, very pretty. I used cherries that had been frozen and cut the sugar by half. It tasted very good, the crust was just the perfect texture. I should have used a larger pan because mine bubbled over quite a bit and made a huge mess in the oven before I caught it but otherwise this is a keeper.

Penne, Tomato, and Mozzarella Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This was a quick and easy meal paired with a green salad and some garlic herb bread. I used whole wheat penne and Roma tomatoes instead of cherry, I also threw in some leftover grilled round steak cut into strips and it was delicious! I also didn't have green onions so I used a red one from the garden and it was good.
