About this Cook
I have been cooking and baking for almost 30 years and love to experiment with recipes. If I can change a recipe and make it better, healthier, easier or tastier, I do. I am a stickler for details and spend alot of time making whatever I cook look appealing. Presentation is everything!
My favorite things to cook
My best things are apple pie, hearty soups and stews. I have just started bread baking and love it. I am pretty good with a potroast and have gotten eggplant and chicken parm down to a science.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The yearly traditional all fish Christmas Eve dinner at my house with the entire family.
My cooking triumphs
Perfect Chicken Parmigiana and home baked bread to die for!
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving Turkey when I left the gizzard package in the cavity (who knew?), my first dinner for the in-laws when I served a practically raw ham because the oven was broken (again, who knew?) and my total Christmas Eve disaster 4 years ago, when my timing was off and I burned everything except the stuffed clams.

Caramel Popcorn
This is great. What makes this is the brown sugar. Add those little red peanuts and this tastes alot like Cracker Jacks. Just remember to PICK OUT THE UNPOPPED KERNELS or you will break your teeth! Very good 5 stars!

Amish Bread
I made two loaves of this bread last winter by hand (no bread machine here). My family went nuts over this bread. The kids sliced it thick and toasted it. The most important thing was to proof the yeast, after that, it was a piece of cake! Looking forward to making this again this winter. Five Stars.

French Onion Soup XI
I just made this exact recipe this weekend with a hunk of Beef in a slow cooker. Trust me, ten onions is NOT absurd! If it is done right, the onions will become translucent and practically melt away. Enjoy this with a hunk of homemade French bread and some sweet butter and away we go! Excellent recipe!
