About this Cook
I'm currently a student, trying to make a career out of my photography (my photog website is jpgmag.com/people/renaeduhaime). I'm a vegetarian and self-proclaimed hippie, and I love art of all forms (and that includes cooking)! I'm definitely a pizza afficionado, and I can tell you every amazing pizza place in my area and exactly what to order from them. I'm also probably one of the weirdest (but lovable) people you'll ever meet, according to my friends :)
My favorite things to cook
GUACAMOLE! (I found an AMAZING recipe for it in a vegetarian cookbook I own), stuffed mushrooms, grilled cheese (in a frying pan<3), an "easy quiche" recipe (which is really a faux quiche), and omelettes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom makes the BEST split pea soup right after Thanksgiving. She also makes these amazing light and fluffy mint chocolate cookies that I keep forgetting to ask her the recipe of (I'll get it one day and share it with you all!! haha).
My cooking triumphs
My guacamole! It was my first time ever making the recipe, and I messed it up a little bit (used fresh avacados and wasn't able to squish them right, so it came out more chunky than pasty), but it turned out even more delicious than I ever could have imagined.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 9, I tried to make eggs over medium (just the way I like them) before my parents woke up...I didn't burn the house down, but I was way too impatient, and also put the oven on low heat, so when the eggs didn't turn white, I gave up and just threw them out. haha

Corn Casserole III
Delicious recipe! Only negative thing I have to say about it is that a 1-quart baking dish would not be big enough. I used a 2-quart, and the mix almost overflowed after cooking (therefore, 2 quart is the perfect size, but 1 quart would have been insufficient). Thank you for sharing!

Lemon Snowballs Cookie
LOVED this recipe. It was amazingly easy to make, and turned out tasting like I bought them from the store (and I mean that in a good way, haha). My boyfriend liked them as well--his comment was that they were "chewy," if anyone was wondering about the consistency. The only (slightly) negative thing I have to say is that they were not "crunchy" in any way, but then, if you want them to be crunchy, you can just add more cream of tartar...no big deal, guys... I liked them just the way they were anyway.
