About this Cook
My name is Krista, my husband and i got married on july 4th, 2008. we have two dogs (butterscotch and penelope) one cat (turbo) & a handsome, healthy baby boy named Keagan Cyle, born 11/13/09.
My favorite things to cook
I love italian food (because im italian). I love pasta and i love (tomato based) pasta sauce as long as it is home-made & never, ever, ever from a jar, but i hate the two when they are combined. Im really good at making casseroles and soups, and little things to snack on. i usually dont follow recipes extactly unless i am baking something, & i've become really good at throwing random things together to make a good meal, no recipe needed.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom's christmas cookies every year. & it never fails that i have to request at least 2-3 extra batches of cookies before christmas since i can never seem to stop eating them at just one cookie.
My cooking tragedies
Cookies. Any time i have ever tried to make cookies from scratch, they all come out awful. every single time. they are either too mushy, too burnt, too flour-y, too bland, or just gross. Im not a good cookie dough person, i suppose.

Chocolate Cake Shot
as is, this drink is only so-so in my opinion. if you use equal parts (1 oz. each) of hazelnut liqueur (i strongly suggest using frangelico) & VANILLA flavored vodka you have yourself a wonderful shot that actually tastes just like chocolate cake. the lemon with sugar is a MUST with this shot, but i dont think it matters if you bite the lemon before or after the shot, ive done it both ways and the end result is always the same.

Hot Corn Dip
this is a good dip! i didnt add cilantro because i didnt have any on hand and my husband isnt a fan of it anyways, otherwise i made as is. next time i make it though i'll add some chopped jalepenos & some pepper jack cheese on top for a little extra spice.

Strawberry Syrup
i enjoyed this, it was simple and very easy to make. the only changes i made were i put my strawberries in the blender rather than mashing them & i boiled everything until it was at the consistancy i wanted... i didnt time it. this recipe would also be good with other fruits you have on hand... i plan on trying it with peaches as well as pineapple!
