I received my wonderful gift on Friday! My gift came from Arizona - a lovely towel with Kokopelli on it(you may not know the name, but you've seen the image! The "hunchbacked flute player" from Native American legend), some chili mix and a beautiful Christmas ornament! Posted a pic and wanted to say THANK YOU! Only thing is, I'm not quite sure who my giftor is? I have her "real" name, but I keep getting mixed up between a couple AR names...I hope she pops in to indentify herself so I can thank her properly! It is truly a lovely gift! :)

For those of you who check here to see whose got what- (I also posted on the exchange) Where do I start? I considered beginning a blog since the list of goodies that Cindy sent is so long that I’m not sure if there is enough space here or not….. I did post a photo on my profile page if anyone wants to go there and have a look. Cindy spent lots of time filling a huge box with local and regional goodies from not only her state but her close border states of Tennessee and Kentucky. Here goes: 3 Christmas tea towels, 1 Christmas dish cloth, 1 Christmas pot holder, a box of Hodgson Mill vital wheat gluten, 2 spiced apple cinnamon candles in mason jars, 1 bag of old fashion sassafras candy—which I’ve NEVER tried and have already opened and began loving! A jar of Starnes b-b-q sauce, a box of Kentucky Kernel seasoned flour, Allegro Hickory smoke marinade, 1 bag of Fish-n-D-lit hush puppy mix, 1 bag of Fish-n-D-lit original Kentucky coating mix, Martha White lemon Poppy seed muffin mix, Loretta sea salt, Loretta spicy sea salt, Huber Family blueberry preserves (husbands favorite berry!) Southeastern Mills Old Fashion peppered gravy mix, several visitor guides and pamphlets of her town and surrounding area AND if all that wasn’t thoughtful enough she sent along presents for the animals!! Two dog bone chews and one can of fancy feast appetizer for cats. Wow…. I know by now you are just shaking your head in amazement. But wait, there’s more! An autographed recipe from the famous chef herself!! Cindy Lepp’s five star rated recipe for, “Southern Fried Chicken Livers.” I’m thinking of putting it on EBAY. The autograph alone should command big bucks! But alas, I am too selfish. Instead I will slide it into a plastic protection sleeve and pop it into my home made all recipes cookbook where I keep all the best recipes I print up from this site. In years to come I will glance through the book and smile remembering the year of 2009 AllRecipes gift exchange that I got the best presents of all!! I will be emailing you shortly Cindy but wanted to share with everyone else how kind and generous you are. Thank you!!

My giftee (lisaj) got her gift on Saturday. I sent her homemade peanut butter milk chocolates, homemade chocolate dipped spoons to go with the Godiva Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate and then a San Diego postcard and US Navy magnet! I am still waiting on mine. I find it hard not having contact from the person who is sending mine. I enjoyed communicating my Lisa, my giftee and she knew when to expect her gift. Hopefully mine will arrive soon!

Steiny, I can't get on AR but CindyL is helping me out because I want to let you know I received my gift today. Thank you sooooo much, the gifts brought back memories of my trips to Kansas (when we lived in Okla). I'll start with my favorite....the Kansas city chocolate sunflower lollipop. It's kinda big but I have it in my mouth right now (a little drip on the chin now and then). Next, the chicken enchilada soup mix (would you believe I've NEVER made this, in any form, and can't wait to try it. Then there's the coffee....umm, that's on for tomorrow morning. Next is the "Jack Stack Hot Sauce". You know that's right up my alley. Finally the bright yellow tea towel. I promise I won't use it on my chocolate drips, it's too pretty. Thanks so much for all my gifts. It was sure exciting to receive them. Patricia3096

Yo Maggs, I received my gift last week, thank you so much. There was a great assortment of NJ goodies included and I love the wooden stick oven rack puller-outer. I'm sure that's not the official name for it but what a handy gadget. It now hangs in a place of honor right by my stove. I loved everything in the box, it was so much fun unwrapping each item. The jar of BBQ sauce broke in shipping so I had to give everything a bath as I was opening them, but boy did they smell good! Thank you again for your thoughtfulness. Happy Holidays!

I have to admit that due to an unexpected business trip I didn't get to UPS until this morning, however I was quoted $95.00, for super saver shipping to Mantibo,CA? Sorry but that's out of the question, I will go to the post office this afternoon to see if other options

KORIEKISS, this was my post to you on 11/21 :-) ~ "The Bella Nonna "Gorgeous Garlic Spread" sounds like something I'll have to wrestle DD for. We were just talking about how much we both love garlic. And the Garlic Sea Salt & Garlic Pepper grinders are going to be fun finding ways to add those to dishes. The Slatkin & Co. "Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin" jar candle makes it smell like Thanksgiving is already here. What a neat measuring glass! I've never seen one that is marked in so many ways - half ounce, milliliter, tablespoon, and teaspoon! The Candy Cane kisses will be perfect for topping the cupcakes I make in the snowman liners. And the wonderful bag of roasted pistachios in the cloth Sunkist bag will need a good hiding place so they don't disappear too quickly ;-) Thanks again !! "

About Me
Married mother of 4, ages 14 to 21, but sane none-the-less.
My favorite things to cook
I'm addicted to entertaining, I love throwing big family parties. I've cooked for up to 30 people and I'm jealous of letting anyone else bring anything.
My cooking triumphs
Basic Light Cheesecake recipe that easily adapts to many flavors. Cioppino with Rice Balls.
My cooking tragedies
I rarely write down a recipe and have lost many dishes to memory lapses, efforts to repeat have never poisoned but also never sated.
