Peaches 'n' Cream Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2009
These are pretty good, not so much "pie" as it is "cheese cake-y". I didn't have any pie filling so I used some Strawberry Jam and that worked pretty well, although I did reduce the baking time to about 18 minutes. They're still a bit messy with the Jam, but I have to agree with other reviewers when they say that they're yummy.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
meh, these were just okay. I made a couple of adjustments: 3/4 C sugar 3/4 C brown sugar, 1/2 C butter 1/2 C shortening. I mean these are good cookies but not as good as other recipes I've used on this site.

Fried Empanadas

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
These are SO yummy! I 1/2 the dough and left the meat mixture the same and ended up having more then enough meat. We didn't have any raisins so I didn't put them in, if you're a little weirded out by the raisins (like we kind of were) you don't need to ad them. I did however ad a green pepper to the meat mixture, and that just added a little more zing. Also we dipped our Empanadas in guacamole which was a nice compliment, although not needed as the empanadas were nice a juicy.

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I really liked these. I didn't have any honey so I didn't put any in. They weren't too sweet at all. They were quite tasty. My three year old had three of them, I think he thought they were cupcakes because of the shape. I was thinking maybe next time I'd use low fat margarine for less calories so i can eat more..

Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
Very versatile recipe. If you don't have something, then leave it out. If you have something the recipe doesn't call for, then add it. I recommend chopping the carrots really small, I think it's weird when you get a big crunchy carrot next to a soft noodle, but when the carrots are small the texture is just right.

Maple Oat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
Not "the Best" bread I've ever had, but it's pretty good. I didn't grind up the oatmeal, I figured the texture would be more interesting if it wasn't ground up tinier.. and I liked it. The maple syrup seemed weird to be, but is oh so tasty. it made my house smell like breakfast (oatmeal, syrup). I only put 1/3 of a cup of water in it. I think the recipe meant to say that you need 1 1/3 of water total, 1 cup for boiling, 1/3 for mixing with the yeast, but it was not written clearly, hence the confusion. I think if you used 1 1/3 of water you would have to ad more flour, and that would be no good.

Kalacs (Hungarian Cinnamon Swirl Bread)

these are really tasty, but I don't think the cook time is accurate. Next time I make these I will put them in the oven for less time.

Beef or Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2009
this was really tasty. I didn't have any ginger or green onions (I used dried onions instead) and it was still really good. I think this is a pretty flexible marinade. I also broiled my chicken breast because the weather isn't grilling weather quite yet. I did it for about 15 minutes flipping the chicken after 5 minutes twice, and then about every minute after that. turned out moist and oh so tasty.

Rancheros

These are pretty good cookies. I didn't put peanuts in them because I didn't have any. I did however change a few things after reading the reviews.. I only put 1 1/2 Cups of flour in it and I added some cinnamon because people said it was lacking something. I also only needed to put them in the oven for 8 minutes.. but that could an oven thing.. so yeah. they were good!

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
I think this recipe would've been very dry if I'd followed it.. but I suppose that's what's great about recipes like this... you don't have to follow them. I didn't have any tomatoes so I put some left over red sauce (1/2 Cup) in it instead and it tasted pretty good.

Zucchini Brownies

so yummy! I agree they are a bit cake like and I followed the recipe just like it says without using an egg.. but they are fudgey too... so it's kind of a win-win relationship. The frosting is too tasty for it's own good. I think I will use it for other things too.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2008
This is an okay cookie. I think sugar cookies are bland and boring so I usually add about 1tsp of Cinnamon and 1tsp of nutmeg. That makes things a bit more exciting. The dough is really yummy and my two year old had fun making stars and snowflakes.

Alfredo Light

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This was pretty good. We also made it with peas instead of broccoli because that's all I had.. but I have been wanting to have Alfredo without using cream cheese.. etc. This was yummy. It did take forever to thicken.. shoulda read the reviews before I made it.. but I used some corn starch and a little extra flour and things worked out.

Oh snap these are good cookies!! I made them super super small, so that I could eat less calories.. well that only works if you don't eat the whole batch by yourself... tee hee.. they are so yummy. DO NOT make them if you are on a diet.. they are addicting like potato chips!! YUM!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
well.. I think with a title like this one they're going to disappoint. They are really really good cookies! I like them. They would be amazing with some ice-cream. I would have given them a five if the title wasn't so ... final. I do recommend only putting eight cookies on a sheet, when you flatten them they get much bigger then you might expect. so to avoid an unfortunate mess just put less cookies on the sheet. *edit* I have made these cookies MANY times now. I think this is officially "my" chocolate chip recipe. I usually use 1/2C margarine and 1/2C shortening, it saves on using up all my butter at one time. I also don't usually put in all the vanilla it calls for (depending on who I'm cooking them for, my mom hates cookies with a lot of vanilla flavor) If your using vanilla extract use the full amount, but if your using REAL vanilla, you can half the amount and they still turn out wonderful. I've also noticed that sometimes I don't always use the last 1/2 C of flour, I add the flour 1/2 a cup at a time and sometimes 3 1/2 cups is too much.
