Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
This is very good and great for sharing with friends and family. I'm glad I cut back the sugar to 1/2 because it is sweet. I also will cut back a bit on the onion next time as a personal preference. Thank you.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Delicious, filling, and easy! I used a can of chicken broth instead of the granules.

Italian Pasta Salad I

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
Can you ruin this great recipe? I doubt it! I thought I had all the ingredients. It still turned out very well when I used only half of the amount of caesar dressing and upped the italian dressing to make up for it. I also put in less green pepper and onion then the recipe called for. Still tastey. To bulk it up for a meal I added mozzerella shredded cheese and sliced black olives. Thank you.

Delicious! A great balance of flavors. I made half the recipe with no changes. I would bring this to any gathering.

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I made this 3 times trying hard to find the 4 1/2 rating it ranks. The original way, with a banana and with a banana and flavored yogurt. Each time we felt it was just O.K.

Orzo and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
This is a family favorite with a few additions. 4 green onions, 2 tsp minced garlic sauted with the butter and orzo, 1/4 cup finely chopped broccoli and carrot. Top with cashew pieces and season lightly with garlic salt to serve as the main course. I will sometimes stir in some shredded cooked chicken. I make it easiy with 1 can chicken broth and 1/4 cup water instead of bouillon.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

The 5 leftover cookies got lost in the cupboard in their ziplocked bag. Two weeks went by and they were just as good as the day I made them. Thank you!

White Chocolate Gorp

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
I made this for Treat Day and I give it 5 stars for being as good as the other reviewers said. For an older crowd I would modify it by lessening the white chocolate a few ounces and substituting Craisins for the candy pieces. I found it more attractive when I spread the mix out on wax paper and then drizzled the melted chocolate on top. Wait until it cools and break it up gently.

I followed the tips from the reviewers and it turned out wonderful. My husband says this recipe tops his mother's toffee bar which was previously his favorite cookie for 40 years!! Thank you!

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
I've made this recipe at least 4 times now. Its taste varies with what I have in my cupboards but it's always good! I've learned to leave out the jalapeno's. I usually puree 1 can of the beans to thicken it and add a can of corn. One time I finely chopped some carrots and added them to the batch. No one even noticed! My vegetarian loves this without the chicken and I do too. Thank you for this tasty recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2008
This dish is on my regular menu rotation. I don't use a slow cooker, I make it on the stove top. I add all the ingredients and heat on medium heat for 20 minutes. That's it! A very adaptable recipe to suit your taste. My vegetarian 15 yr. old loves it so I add rotisserie chicken to my portion only. I don't use diced tomatoes either, just sauce. Freezes well too!

Vegetable Cashew Saute

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
REVIEW ADDITION: I served this cold at a family picnic with no changes. Many compliments! This is delicious. My teen just decided to be a vegetarian and I was looking for high protein meals. I made a half recipe and served it over noodles. I omitted the mushrooms, used EVOO instead of dark sesame oil and red wine vinegar for the balsamic vinegar. Thank you DVDANDDV, she went back for seconds!
