About this Cook
I'm a senior in highg school this year, and baking has become a favorite past time for me and my best friend. We make all kinds of cakes and enjoy working with fondant for a challenge. We're planning on marketing our skills this year and making a few bucks while we're at it.
My favorite things to cook
Just made a great cheesecake, but i love cooking anything. I'm known for home made chinese and thai bentos for lunch and pre-football-game snacks. Strong focus on specialty cakes...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas, which usually holds a special meaning for people, really brings my family together. Wherever we are in the country, the cousins aunts and uncles all come home for good cooking and my grandma's famous christmas cookies (a secret recipe that's been passed down from lord knows when). We're a big food family and grill out of control in the summer, bake in the winter, and find any excuse to bring eachother joy through food.
My cooking triumphs
The first cake my friend and i ever made and covered with fondant, we were legitimately offered a hundred dollars for the next day. Perhaps it was poor judgement or just a bit of ego stroking, but one way or another it's kept us baking.
My cooking tragedies
oh god. the blue fondant. oh god. We used food die instead of legit wilton coloring, and it got everywhere. We aren't allowed to bake in my kitchen anymore haha. Also, i suppose my 5-year old run in with the microwave is about as tragic as macbeth. I tried to make chocolate milk while my parents were out with the neighbors. Into the microwave went the single hershey kiss and out came a firey ball of worst nightmare.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake
I made this with my girlfriend today for my dad's birthday and it couldn't have gone better. Prep was simple, and we left the oven door closed despite the enticing smell. Everyone at the party was going nuts over it. Extra raspberry topping went over vanilla ice cream on the side. There were no cracks, though i could have greased the sides better. And it could have taken a few less minutes. I'm making it again tomorrow so i can actually have a piece. THANKS MUCH!
