I love this recipe, and I make this often during the summer. However my sister and I recently decided this recipe is missing something, but we don't know what that is. We've done several variations of this recipe, doing everything from adding a generous splash of Italian dressing (which made the salad a little oily) to quadrupling the cilantro (which is actually very good, but doesn't fix the problem). We are still searching for the missing ingredient. If anyone has any ideas, let me know!

Daddy's Sausage and Peppers

On eof my favorite recipes of all time. A few changes: Since I use this as a thick and chunky pasta sauce, I double the Italian seasoning and double the diced tomatoes. I also don't worry about the number or color of bell peppers. Most of the time, I use all green bell peppers, and I cut the number of them down to three or four large peppers, depending on what I have on hand, and no harm is done. This is so delicious! Thanks!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

My husband eats four or five barbecue chicken sandwiches when I make this recipe using Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce from this site. Thanks for a great recipe! (Oh, and definitely use a slow cooker liner or you'll be chiseling barbecue chicken from the insides of your crock pot for a week.)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

This was my first attempt at making a homemade pie, and it was absolutely beautiful and it tasted so delicious. I think I took a wrong turn somewhere, though, because the inside of my pie didn't completely set. It was very runny when I cut and served it, which was a little bit of a turnoff (but this didn't matter once my friends took a bite of the pie - they absolutely loved it!).

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are so wonderfully different from your everyday chocolate chip cookie. Even my oatmeal-phobic husband can't stop eating these by the plateful. This recipe would make too many cookies for my little family if it weren't for how addictive they are.

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

Delicious! Just the right combination of sweet and tangy. I've made this sauce several times to use as my barbecue sauce for slow cooker barbecue chicken. Any leftover sauce freezes awesomely.

Festive Tossed Salad

Absolutely delicious! I used cherry tomato halves and threw in some toasted almonds and brought this to a family barbecue. My mom thought the dressing was a little too tangy, but the next day she added some of the leftover dressing to a plain tossed salad and she called me to tell me that the flavor had mellowed out overnight. I might try to make the dressing a day ahead next time.
