About this Cook
Been cooking for a good few years. I got my inspiration from my mostly-Italian grandmother. All self taught, I'm planning on attending culinary school in a couple years in Seattle. My only reason for not already being there is because I'm majoring in Jazz Studies at the Community College in Eugene, Or. Once I get my transfer degree, I'll be onto the next chapter in my life. My favorite chefs are Mario Bitali, Wolfgang Puck, Micheal Mina, and Guy Savoy to name a few.
My favorite things to cook
I'm an all around chef, I tend to cook with whatever I have. I lean more towards Italian and French technique and food, whilst working with ingredients from around the world. I'm a huge fan of fusion cuisine. I believe it's the next step in culinary evolution and is now in full swing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies. What? I believe it's just beautiful. Everyone, whether culinarily challenged or blessed enjoys making (or at least eating) christmas cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Vegan/vegetarian food is not that hard to make for me. I adjust recipes well to it. I am not a true veggie, but I have many friends that are. I can cook on a budget but I love to work with top shelf ingredients. I'm also pretty good at chocolates and desserts. And I invented Italian sushi.
My cooking tragedies
Turkish Delight. I dunno what it is, but I just can't make it right...
