Ma Lipo's Apricot-Glazed Turkey with Roasted Onion and Shallot Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
OMG! This took a little extra time, but oh so worth it. Husband said it was the best turkey he ever had. Used sugar free apricot preserves since I am diabetic, but the flavor was outstanding. Will also be using this with chicken as well since it is just the 2 of us now.

Green Bean and Mushroom Medley

This was a nice change from the usual veggies. Brought it to Easter. Cooked a little less time (really like crunchy veggies), everybody loved them.

So easy and tasty. Made the night before and then I was ready for christmas morning. Family questioned it until they tasted it and there was nothing left. Great for brunch.

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This turned out great. It was so easy. I toasted the frend bread before putting in the soup and topped with swiss cheese and gruyere cheese. Had a restaurant quality flavor to it. Served it on Valentines Day for whole family.

turned out okay, it was my own fault though because I cooked it on low instead of high. will try again.

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2009
This was wonderful. Only had a 2 1/2 pound roast, so cut down on time, but it really came out great. Son who is very picky about his meat loved it. I did have to open oven for last 30 min to add potatoes, but it still came out with the best flavor. Thanks for the recipe, will definately make again.

Cranberry Sauce with Jalapeno Peppers

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly and it was a little runny. But the flavor was delish. Those who like hot/spicy loved it. It made plenty and have some left over for christmas. Maybe cooking it a little longer would help with the thinness, but we just used a slotted spoon and all was fine.

Pumpkin Chocolate Dessert Cake

Came out great and smelled terrific. Seemed a little dry, but with ice cream it was great. The chocolate lovers in the group thought it was wonderful and tasted a little like gingerbread. I would make this one again.

Spicy Cranberry Chutney

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
OMG! from someone who does not usually eat cranberry sauce, this was excellent. I did not use the pepper flakes, so it was not hot/spicy. The flavors all blended so well and I had no left overs because they were eating it all by itself. Thanks for a great recipe.

My husband does not like seafood but when I made this he stole from everybody elses plate. Was very easy and yummy. Did take the suggestion to pour the left over butter over the top before baking.

Oven Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
Wow, this was great! Did make a few changes though. Used a red zinfindel (all I had at home) and cream of celery. Put the potatoes and carrots in about 1 hour before serving and they all turned out fabulous. No need to make gravy as the drippings and soup mixed well and had a great consistency. Will absolutly try this again.

Donna's Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Was very chocolaty but a little dry. Those that like very dark chocolate will love this one. Will try again, but will probably add something to aid the moisture content.

Was looking for something different and found this one. The apple was difficult to taste but added great moisture to the bread. Gave it to neighbors and they still rave about it.

Emily's Strawberry Balsamic Salad

Excellent!!! Was looking for something different to bring to a dinner party and this was it. Even the teenage boys had seconds and complimented on the dressing. Will certainly use the dressing on a very regular basis. Do not have a food processor but I do have one of those rocket blenders and that worked pretty well.

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This was easy and turned out great. Had to cook a little longer, but I think that was because they were in the fridge all day and were very cold to start with. I did use a little less ceyenne pepper since I can't do HOT, but it still had a little bite and the guys really liked it. Will absolutly do this again.
